Important info when purchasing LEDs: understanding PPF and PPFD

I understand what you are saying. Light manufacturers should make their 'PAR Charts' large enough to capture all of the light until the meter reads zero. I feel that this should be done in an open area with NO reflectivity so we know just what kind of footprint is being laid down. Reflective...

Important info when purchasing LEDs: understanding PPF and PPFD

Knowing the light spread of different fixtures at different distances is definitely useless information....

    The COB effect...

Some of my plants stretched 36" in 11 days and some of my plants haven't stretched more than 12" the whole flower cycle. These plants are literally side by side. This was with 3500K COBs.

CRI test and Mcree weighted results

I guess we have different ideas of what 0 means. I won't try to convince you, maybe just read the article cited? They do a much better job at explaining than I could.

CRI test and Mcree weighted results

I've read a few studies that have found light wavelengths of >780nm will elicit photosynthesis and stimulate photosystems 1 & 2, with most activity dropping off sharply <740nm. http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0005272805001192

    The COB effect...

Your posts clearly support that... Thanks for all your baseless contributions. The pic you posted shows so clearly how much better DE is than LED. We are all a bunch of ass hats for even trying different tech:dunce: and especially for liking the results. Sorry HID master grower...

    The COB effect...

If it's such a small hobby, why are you a big LED troll? Why do you always have a negative opinion of somebodies positive experience with LED's and then demand proof of their experience? And why do have such an opinion about them if you aren't willing to try them out yourself?

    Dot burn!

Which pathogens and diseases are you referring to specifically? I'd love to learn something new. I've been mulching for over a year and my plants are as happy as ever now. Never heard of mulch causing diseases.

    Dot burn!

Ever heard of Recycled Organic Living Soil? Or No-Till gardening? I'm guessing probably not based on your sarcastic condescending remarks. Well part of that system (and traditional gardening practices) uses mulch to keep the top soil moist and alive with activity. Anything can be used as...

[Solved: it is] KingBriteLed alibaba safe?

I was quoted $8.65 per 133mm Pin Fin Sink Drilled and tapped to my specs, from Alibaba. After Tax/shipping they came out to $12.30 per heat sink delivered. I only ordered 52, not 1000. To my understanding, the 133mm sinks perform very close to 140mm pin sinks. 2 week lead time. This was also...

Question for all LED users out there

Cites? Sources? Isn't 84 degrees F maximum optimal leaf temp for Photosynthesis (regardless of light source) in most plants, before diminishing returns i.e. Photoinhibition/photorespiration? Wouldn't Vapor Pressure Deficit, as well as atmospheric CO2 concentrations, dictate how much a plant...

Panel (NextLight Mega) vs higher power COB

So you are selling kits that are plug and play, use less energy, create more light than the Next Light Mega (which uses basically the same chips) and are selling these kits at less than half price of the Next Light Mega? Sounds too good to be true. If not, that's amazing and I commend you guys...

CRI test and Mcree weighted results

It could just be the reflection of lower quality spectrum, but the 90 CRI test plants seem a little darker green and lush, as well as larger.
