    Best dimension for grow bar and panel?

    I'm wrestling with this as well, though I'm doing a 4x8 space with 32 COBs at 1050mA. (looking for a 1000PPFD) I would assume you want the LEDs spread out, assuming overlap from your LEDs will be stronger than your reflection off your walls. So maybe slightly less space around the edges than in...

    I've used both happy frog and ocean forest. The only problem was when I used ocean forest alone on seedlings. Just like Mom says, it's too hot and I got nute burn. Use happy frog, or a mix until you can tell what works better for your strains. One trick I read (maybe even here) was when you...

    Ahhh, okay. I just read in another thread they only have one admin, so that'll happen. So, I started supercropping, and one of my plants really didn't like it. I might've broken the stem in a bad way/too much. However, the rest of the plants exploded with growth. Also started trimming the...

    What the hell is happening?! I was also pretty sure it was down forever and I was going to get vanned.

    Definitely stir your water before checking. Things might be settling. Also, if you are using tap water, the chlorine evaporating will also change the pH.

    I mean, it's a controller. You can drop $2k on a controller to do everything you want with an arduino. Or you can just buy one. What happens when you build it is: You have a partially automated garden just like the pre-built 2k ones. It's not amazing or new. I found that system someone else...

    CrazyDago did the roundtable on automation the other night, so I was like, "I got this RaPi and Uno... might as well make something with them." At the very least I want to control/record temp and humidity. I assume other people might be into this if they didn't have to pioneer it. Edit: Found...

    Got an arduino. Want to make some customizable controls. Maybe hook it up to the internet so I can get alerts and check temps/humidity/light status in real time, feed it into graphs, etc. Has anyone found any good threads on that?

    Welcome back everyone. During "the break" I ordered up 24 CXB3590s and 4 HLG240h-c1050s from RapidLED. With the discount he gave me for a 1st time purchase, it ended up being about the same as Alibaba. (because no paypal/$$$shipping) If you are building your own, check them out. Still deciding...

    I was going at half the mfg recommended dose, but then I realized my ultimate noob mistake. It's Grow Big, not Big Bloom. Stupid fuck up that explains a ton. This is why I didn't buy any fancy genetics yet. (;

    After fighting another bout of paranoia, I've finally decided to post my babies. They are almost all random or bag seed, as they are my first run and likely to all die horribly as I await my COBs. The tallest is 10" and they are all about 3 weeks growing under 6 T12 fluorescent lights because...

    The left one, with the spots, looks like pH flux just because the tips aren't super bad. But noob. I had that on mine after I started using pH balanced water after finding out boston area water is pH 8-8.5.

    I'm waiting for a couple full grows to come out of those to see what they do before I start playing with them. I'm super interested in watching comparison growing with them, vs COBs and HID.

    You want to show us your design? I got COBs on the brain and I'd love to see what you have and do a price/eff analysis to get better at this.

    It's a room, but I'm splitting it up by hanging/making a light frame for plastic so I can run 3 rooms for a ideally 4 plant harvest once a month, once it's all figured out.

    So, I have a plant that's growing real weird, suddenly. It's lop sided. I was thinking about topping it just to give it a redo about being symmetrical. Maybe I should just end it? Thoughts? (I potted this before I knew how much the soil would settle. Derp.) (Also, thanks Mom and Ttistikk for...

    I'm also nervous about everything I do, so I like this discussion. I have two plants at 1' tall now, so I think it's time for me to start training them with topping and LST.

    Does anyone know of a good thread on reflectors? I'm trying to figure out what to surround my grow in, and I see all manner of variation, but was looking for someone to be like, "This is the best for the $. This is the best but is expensive AF." etc.
