One could make something similar with: This Three of these and This Throw in some bluecell tape and a plug and you have more or less the same light for about half the price. *some assembly required

    Which approach will win?

Still running the same 77v cxa3590 cobs at 350mA since 2014. I have built a number of strip panels for friends but see no reason to upgrade what I have in my cabs, plenty of things I'd rather spend my dough on. Everything still works and the plants have always responded positively to 3000k...

Adding deep & far reds to Quantum Board build

These look awesome but the 28.1v cold start is mildly annoying Basically rules out any meanwell cv driver options

Testing Timber's B-lux Decor Vero fixture(1750k)= Hello beautiful SPD, finger still on the trigger

@The Dawg I don't see any PAR-power technology™ nor canopy piercing advanced secondary optics on your rig.... How is your proprietary spectrum going to outpace your LED counterparts?:lol::lol: I didnt realize there was an act two for this clown show :wall:

Ordering Parts for two quantum boards tonight, need feedback before I pull the trigger

The softer you drive your strips, the more photons you get for your $. Its up to you to figure out how long its going to take to recoup the increase in initial investment from the savings on your power bill. An added bonus of more diodes driven softer is increased uniformity which...

help with mounting qb board on a heatsink

Mark your holes, drill pilot holes, drive in your self-tappers with a little grease, back all the fasteners out, clean off grease, set board, put fasteners back in. Tapping sucks

LED Technology in the next 3-5 years?

    1. Still using cxa3590's I purchased in 2014. (Just running them at 12w a piece now) all the friends want the fancy strip builds but I'm cheap and the 3590's work great. Also still listening to tapes on my nakamichi dragon. 2.

When QBs are cheaper than strips?

Fair fight. I'd also never hang a naked pcb in my grow room so different strokes.
