I love sativas and prefer them over indicas. The hardest part about growing them is having patience, I've hade some go as long as 12 weeks in flower and still not be done. After 3 months flowering you start to say fuck it and move on.

I think you might have read it wrong, maybe not. I never check or worry about ph in soil, your fine don't sweat it. Lime will help but raise ph but I wouldn't use it.

I'm going to guess it's probably due to it's sativa dominance. IMO it just seems like some sativa's are more fluffy then others. There are a lot of other things that can make it airy too but like you said side by side, and conditions are right sometimes it just comes out that way. Cant wait to...

Yup you can. even at 12/12 they still seem to take about 5-6 weeks to show sex. I would do it in that window so you could veg, but if your not worried about it go for it. Once you get roots your golden.

Sounds about right. I have one at canopy level, one above the hood and another outside the tent. It's a little over kill but I get to see exactly whats going on with the temps.
