I veg 24/7.... Why? Because it is fool proof and works perfectly fine (it's a harvestable crop, in 3 months I won't even remember her name).. I simply can't screw it up unless I go way out of my way at 24/7, and for me that is a big big plus.

Believe it or not.... I have taken successful clones off of harvested plants before (that last second, 'shit, may as well try, I have nothing to lose'.. ) that I had had hanging for close to 24 hours.. I wouldn't suggest this as a standard practice..; ha ha..

Heh.. it is a harvest-able crop, not my girlfriend.. I go 24 because it is EASY and can't be fucked up. For me, that is important. My plant's don't complain, rather they thrive. Others own mileage may vary.

Yup.. easy.. Nope, no below the node.. not needed.. These days my clones just come from any breaking I do when I pinch over the tops (super crop) ... I know I need a clone, I just bend aggressively.. if it snaps, I pull it off and stick it into a class of water.. in a week or two I plant it...

For small spaces I actually PREFER CFL.. After tooling, I can get a fatter, tighter bud from 150 watts CFL than I can 150 watt HPS.. (by default of placement). When I do CFl grows (A few times a year) I use about 250 watt of CFL, that costs me I dunno.. never really saw the bill go up or down...
