Help! Severely twisted and shriveled new growth

Miracle Grow is crap soil. Also do not use their liquids on any baby plants. Find organic soil. Babies like that work fine in good soil and good water. They do not really need nutes. If you want store bought nutes - Dr. Earth or Jack's by JR Peters. This is stuff ladies and gents use for...

Dr. Bronner's Peppermint Soap and a pinch of Caynne You can get that soap at better grocery stores, drug stores, GNC, Vitamin Shoppe. 4 table spoons per one gallon of water. The soap has lots of oils. A 32 oz bottle is like $14 but will last forever. They sell it in 4 oz and 8 oz bottles...

    LED opinions

DIY COBs like Timber Grow Lights or others. Or a 315 Watt LEC which = t about a 600 watt HPS. Avoid the Chinese LED junk on AMazon and eBay. Some of those are okay in veg but pretty worthless in flower.

Getting rid of s[ider mites in Flower - stoner method -water and organic RAID

Anyone try this? Wet the plant down well (support it because they droop with water), hit it hard with sprayer, shake it then nuke the soil with organic RAID. THC not washed off the bud by water pressure according to this dude.

    Indoor Grow Advice?

See what others say. I would go 18/6 and would move the light within 1 foot or seedling.

    First time harvest problem!!!!! Help!!

You should use nutes. For something cheap and effective - Dr. Earth Bloom sold at Home Depot and other places. 4 lb bag is $10.98. It had nutes and also biotics. Another good one is Jack's Blossom Booster 10-30-20. By JR Peters...

    Quest for 2LBS+ Per 1,000watt

I talked to a guy who was an experienced grower. He said he got 2 lb per 1000 watt light using digital ballast and a parabolic/umbreallla reflector with the bulb pointing down vertically not horitzontally. Why? Those reflectors have a really wide area of light like 5x5 or even 5.5x5.5. The...

Does anyone top dress soil with worm castings particularly to deter spider mites?

Worm castings have an enzyme called chitin or chitinase that supposedly deters mites, thrips and other bugs. http://fraleighs.com/feed-your-soil-not-your-plants-part-1-2/ Chitinase enzyme can dissolve the exoskeletons of bugs and the bugs can detect it including spider mites. I am using...

Monterey Garden Insect Spray (Spinosad) ? ?

Good customer service from Jacks Dead Bug Brew with Spinosad (Bonide) and Monterrey too. They follow up fast if you email a question. Oh and a ladybugs - good on thrips but not spider mites. The lady at the local bug store tore me a new one "Ladybugs would rather starve than eat spidermites."...

After Spraying Alcohol/Water for Spider Mites.....

If someone has a smaller grow they might want to wipe down the undersides of leaves, wait a little while and they rinse with water. They could use cotton balls and a bowl of water/iso.

After Spraying Alcohol/Water for Spider Mites.....

I would be careful with the roots. Supposedly alcohol is bad for the roots. I would spray the soil with Dawn and water or 10% skim milk and 90% water before I would use ISO.

    Got spider mites

Yeah - this is what he said too. He said stay downwind or have a fan or respirator. 70/90/91% ISO is strong stuff. The evaporation is good for mites and plants. I cannot never understand people who drink strong alcohol but Diet Coke is probably just as bad and especially anything from Pepsi.

Is there an interim setup between Clone King and Buckets?

Thanks. Scratch that idea. And you are running COBs which are cooler than HIDs.

Is there an interim setup between Clone King and Buckets?

Will do. I am hoping I did not buy a pig in a poke. It looks interesting. I may want to try to clone your set up. One system I saw solves the chiller issues (supposedly) with a waterfall drop of the water back to the reservoir. Supposedly "air cooling." Thanks.

    Got spider mites

A poster in another thread who seems experienced also like ISO. He does 10% ISO and 90% RO water. He said to protect your roots with plastic and maybe also a towel. He says he sprays every 2 days for 14 days to break the life cycle.
