    Plant question

Shoot for lumens at about 7000 per sq ft you need to illuminate. I agree with Pro, check out the CFL forum. I only veg with CFL's but have done a lot of reading about it which is where my recommendation comes from. Basically the more light the better as long as you keep temps under control...

My bad, didn't realize you were in another country.

    Plant question

Agree on the complete darkness. How close are you keeping the lights? Low light intensity can really slow down the flowering process. Looks like a pretty tall/big plant to be covered by that much light. Are they "equivalent" watts or are they "true" watts. If equivalent then you only have...

    So I tried growing shrooms

I think spores are pretty easy to get through the mail these days. I have seen many sites doing it. Haven't ordered any in years but I wouldn't be too worried about it. They are now sold under the guise of a "scientific research" product. The spores are legal in all states except Cali...

    12/12 from clone questions

11L pots will work great. You don't have to veg at all but it will help the yield. Sometimes I only give them 4-5 days. Just enough time to get over any transplant shock and start putting roots down...

    First time grower/bag seed/learning

The epsom will have an immediate impact but the dolomite lime will take a while to break down and do it's thing. The perlite is not a nute it is a soil amendment that allows for better drainage and better aeration. You won't be able to add it until / if you transplant. Or down the line if you...

    12/12 from clone questions

I agree if you give it a week or so to put down roots after transplant / before flower you will get much better results. Many people do 12/12 from clone. Try a search of this site, just search titles for 12/12 from clone and I bet you will get some good hits.

    So I tried growing shrooms

If it is your first time growing them I would not try to do anything with the Mycelium other than put it in a proper terrarium and grow it out. Once you start trying to colonize more medium with it you risk contamination etc. IMO just grow it out so you can learn then build off that...

    First time grower/bag seed/learning

You will need to add nutes at some point. I make my own supersoil adding many nutes to already rich soil and still need to supplement when I get to flowering. MJ is a hungry plant. Also think about adding some epsom salt to the waterings at about 1/4-1/2 tsp / gallon (dissolve in hot water)...

    First time grower/bag seed/learning

Good advice from DC, I will add that the soil looks like it will retain a lot of water. Make sure you don't overwater, wait until the pot in noticeably light before watering. Next time add some perlite to the soil.

Last night I did some defoliation on the JillyBean (only removed about 25-30 leaves), and tried to pollinate the K1 and K7 again. JillyBean Jack Herer

How do YOU think there doing?

The 400 is built to run HPS only. Bought it back in 97', its built like a tank. I haven't done much research yet to find out what my bulb options are for it in the blue spectrum. I guess a dual arc or an enhanced spectrum bulb. I found this one on Amazon...

How do YOU think there doing?

Thanks, that looks like a nice bulb. I have a 600W ballast though, and it looks like they don't make a 600 version. I do also have a 400W HPS ballast that needs a new bulb. Might be a good option for supplemental lighting in the winter when the tent will stay cool enough for both lights (both...

    Cascadian's Continuing Grow Journal 600 Watt 5X5

Here are some pics of the watering setup I used while on vacation. It is just a res with a 400 GPH submersible pump that is adjustable with some 1/2" tubing that gets split off into 4 lines that each have 2 or 3 sprayers on them depending how many trays need to be filled. I could have bought a...

    yellow leaves during flower

I would say their schedule is fine in general. But there are times when it is best to read what the plant is telling you and adjust accordingly. Different strains have different requirements, some like more Mg or more nutes etc. I also use GH Flora Nova, my medium is home made supersoil. The...

    yellow leaves during flower

After taking a closer look I would say they have at least a month to go for their full potential. Give them some N every other watering for the next week or so and see how they respond. You just want to see them stabilize as far as how green they are without yellowing much further for the next...

    yellow leaves during flower

Yep, looks like a bit of nitrogen deficiency. At week 5 I wouldn't be too worried about it. It is normal for them to lose their green color approaching harvest. If it were me I would mix a 50/50 solution of grow/bloom ferts for them for the next watering and then just feed bloom ferts until...

Need Some Suggestions on Set-Up (Thanks)

Are you planning on growing in soil or hydro? If soil I would suggest getting the highest quality soil you can find and adding what the plant will need directly to the soil. IE: blood meal, bone meal, worm castings, dolomite lime, epsom salt, perlite, azomite (if you can find it), then just...

If all I want is seeds, go 12-12 from seed?

I will just say that the PPM of any CS is key to the timing of pollen developing on time. Run it at 27 volts for 24 hours and you won't have a problem starting the CS "males" on 12/12 a week to 10 days ahead of the standard females. Just make sure you spray them twice a day with CS for the...
