    Sealed room cooling question

also, leakage from pushing air enters your room as super heated air. leakage from pulling air removes air (including CO2) from ur room without adding heat u are trying to remove with ur hoods to begin with.

    Sealed room cooling question

pulling the air sucks the glass tighter to the foam seal strip on the hood making less leaks. if that doesnt work well enough replace the foam seals with slightly thicker ones available at any hardware stroe. also keep in mind plants use a ton of CO2! my propane tank on my burner was empty for 5...

Lookin at Apollo Horticulture, need reviews from you guys

Ive owned an Apollo 1000w for 3 years. Used on HPS and MH. fires both great. i only use this ballast for veg now but it still works just fine. To be honest i have less trouble with it than the lumatek right next to it (very rarely fails to fire MH)

My 2015 Flower Room With Gavitas

oh, one light is in a veg area? that'll make it much more difficult. thought u were flowering with 4475w. still very interested to see what u think about those lights. are u using the gavita controller? i believe that controller automatically adjusts the light output depending on temperature...

My 2015 Flower Room With Gavitas

1 gram per watt would be almost exactly 10 "units" so its definitely a possible goal. may want to consider a way to warm it up to the low 60's during "lights off". Also maybe consider CO2 enrichment. maybe down the line when u have some cash flow, as you'll likely want to seal your room and add...

    best lighting for large grow

if you pick air cooled hoods, please connect them to ducts and move air through them. otherwise you are just wasting light placing glass in between your bulb and your plants like the picture above.

Ordering my equipment in one week! All opinions welcomed.

i know u are planning on not going with DEs for now but i did notice someone recommend an air cooled reflector for the DE bulb. be very careful with direct cooling on DE bulbs. its cools the bulb too much and reduces output.

    70hps and 70mh grow

if that bulb is a "mogul" size it will fit into a reflector like a cooltube that would be wired with a safe sized wire and remove a lot of the heat from your space. the wires on the back of the socket are a little exposed for my liking. but i love ur set up. ive never seen such small HIDs.

Ordering my equipment in one week! All opinions welcomed.

i think that MH bulb is for magnetic ballasts. Hortilux make a magnetic bulb and an "e-start" for digital ballasts. its only 10 or so dollars more. idk what ballast u plan to run ur MH on but keep in mind when ordering online.

    70hps and 70mh grow

also i dont know the size of the base on those blubs but u could probably go to a grow store and get a reflector with a pre-wired cord.

    70hps and 70mh grow

i just looked on my 1000w ballast and both the cord from the power source to the ballast and the cord running from the ballast to the reflector are 16 guage AWG. that would be more than safe for a 70w. it probably says the wire size in tiny indented print on the wiring on it now. if u add much...

Vented lights on scrubber w/o pulling out all the co2?

If u add co2 u will have to intake air from outside the tent, run it through the lights, and exaust it back outside the tent. otherwise u will just remove all the co2 u add. also ur scrubber will work more effectively with a lower CFM fan attached to it, and less smell will make its way out of a...

    Can't progress past seedlings... #PYTHIUM

I really love hydrogen peroxide. its not particularly cheap, and it does kill beneficial and malignant microbes alike, but you can add 3ml per gallon of 30% hydrogen peroxide everyday and it will keep your reservoir clean. If there is no infection in your water and u still have this problem you...

air hoods a must at this point?!?

and yes the footprint of reflectors can vary widely. i like using 4 big reflectors (Raptor) with 1000w HPS in each for a 10x10. Smaller reflectors focus more light straight down increasing penetration but reducing coverage area.

air hoods a must at this point?!?

ur going to need about 3,000 btus of cooling per 1000W hps with air cooled hood if u seal room. 10000 btu AC will likely only keep up with 3 lights in summer probably can do 4 in the winter.

    FULL ROOM HPS GROW

S13hitman is right. its a lot more involved than hanging up 4,800 watts and watering soil.

    FULL ROOM HPS GROW

each 600W light uses 5.5 amps on a normal 110v outlet. meaning only 2 could run off of a normal 15a circuit. 8 600w lights would use over 43 amps on 110v. best bet is to get a 30a 220v circuit installed to a high power realay that turns the lights on and off. this will leave the 110v power for...

Water pump to pvc pipe fitting??

1300l/h is about 325 gph. not a huge pump should be fine. and yes, see how it comes with different outlet fittings? this means you could remove the fitting and put a pvc one like shown above in its place
