    germ question from a newbie

Yes... just a little warmer then room temp, with no direct light. I stuck 3 seeds on my satellite reciever/cable box using the same method as you just yesterday... this afternoon they had already popped open and had a 1/4" tail. Now planted and waiting...

    Will 2700k hurt seedlings?

I jumped the gun a bit and germinated a few seeds before my proper lights arrived... all I have to work with is 2700k CFL's. The 6500k are coming... but will the 2700k work for a week or so? Or will my seedlings keel over from having the wrong spectrum?

    Veg lighting

I have some 6500k CFL's on the way... but haven't arrived yet. Wondering if my seedlings will be OK under a couple 2700k lights for about a week after they sprout? (should be breaking the surface in a couple days) I know it's not ideal... but is this light better then nothing? It's winter...

    Household Pipe

I've made several nice water bongs out of little 1 oz liquor bottles... pop a hole in the top, one on the side close to the neck, and just use pens and foil for the bowl, smokestack, and mouthpiece. With some creativity, I think you could turn just about anything into a pipe or bong.

    5000K vs 6500K

Thanks... I'm sure equator weed is nice... but atomic equator weed is better! I'll keep searching for 6500 to make it worth my while.

    5000K vs 6500K

I'm having a bitch of a time getting my hands on 6500K lights (CFL) of any wattage where I live... wondering if 5000K or 5100K would be alright for veg? Will there be any major difference in growth using a lower K?

    CFL lights/timers

Walmart... ripped apart a couple desk lamps and wired em through... voila. I figure I saved quite a bit of dough... kinda need too, since I have to spend the savings on CFL's and seeds!

    CFL lights/timers

    Thanks... cost me $8.

    CFL lights/timers

Thanks... I think I'll take your 2 cents and add it to my light savings fund to buy a few smaller ones instead if I can find em. I was considering the 125w only because of the wattage : space ratio in my dome. I bought a large 14" stainless steel mixing bowl, drilled a few holes in the...

    CFL lights/timers

I have a chance to get a couple nice 125w High Output CFL's 6500k for vegging when my seeds get here... but any CFL over 40w that I've seen says not to use with timers... that's gonna be a pain. Anyone know why? I can't use HID because of the heat/space concern, but I can use CFL's no...

    CFL hurt flowering?

K... here's the deal My plant started out in the windowsill for a few months, left alone with no nutes or proper light for about 3-4 months. Now she's around 2 feet tall and flowering furiously. What can I say... fluked out, never expected her to grow from one little bag seed. So while I'm...

    Newb...and relying on you folks!

Hey all... Newbie here. Been chronic for about 15-20 years, but now times are tough. Moved to a secluded little town (beautiful mountain town, northern Canada) and there is no supply. Nearest town is a couple hours away, no one here grows.. no one here sells. Everyone relies on full-day road...

    I fluked out... what next?

Sorry, forgot to mention that I did add a food stick to the soil about a month ago, split in half and pushed in either side of the plant. Honestly couldn't tell any real growth difference, then again, I wasn't really paying much attention until now. Should I still add some nutes, remove the...

    I fluked out... what next?

Thanks... I did just that... bought four CFL 30w bulbs, 2 splitters and a couple lamps, now have her under tons of light in a reflective corner and will keep it at 12/12 for a while and see how she does. I also took a cutting to try a clone using the water technique... fingers crossed. Any...

    I fluked out... what next?

Wow... am I glad I found this site!!! A few months back, I dropped a bag seed into one of my houseplant pots, and it started growing. But we never really paid any attention. Re-potted when it got too crowded with the fern... and it kept growing. Never used any lights, any nutes, just put it...
