3rd Grow - White Widow - Ebb & Flow system

Well I just checked on the girls they have started to sprout though the rockwool. Once all of them have poke though I will post some pics of the girls.

Im still using reg tap water till they really begin to show, is that still good. I have been monitoring the ph lvl everyday around the same time.

They are still on the 18/6 light and 15min every 12 hours water cycle.

Any input would be apperaciated.

I learned a very valuable lesson tonight. Im going to have to add something inbetween my pots and my rez. Spilled so much water trying to change it out. So Im going to adjust my design during light houts tomorrow.


The reason I went around and switched the water out was because it was on tapp water, while it rained tonight and I heard rain water was better for them.

all 3 white widows have sprouted and we have 1 unknown that hasnt showed its face just yet.

Well I just got the technaflora BC nuea on the way. Should be here by fri. Anyone use these nites before.

What You Gonna Do When The Rain Water Isnt Available Switch Them Back And Shock The Shit Outa Them Just Keep A Big Water But And Giving Them Tap Water Will Be Fine Aslong As Its Been In The Container 24 Hrs Before Use Just Some Advice

Will do. I always leave the water out for more then 24 hrs.

Good thinking. the water in a hydro grow is everything. I only use water that has been filtered by reverse Osmosis (R/O) or distilled. I fill my 5 gallon bottles at the machines.

I test all the water first to see how much crap is in it. My tap water has about 300 PPM of "whatever" in it to start with. filtered RO water is about 10 to 20 ppm and distilled is zero. I prefer distilled when I mix nutrients in it. That way I know what is in my water. down the road you will need a TDS meter that measures the amount in PPM or EC so you can measure it. I run veg at about 500 ppms (parts per million) and flower at 700 to 800 PPM.

Without one, use half what the manufacture recommends with filtered water and you should be alright with hydro. If you use tap, you let it sit for 24 hours right? Well that doesn't really do much for total dissolved solids. It may dissipate the chlorine in the water but all that crap is still in there. I would only use that on a soil grow. Soil will buffer the tap water.

Rain water, R/O or distilled is best for hydro.


Oh for the pics, If you have office just right click on the pic and select edit. you can re size pics with microsofts picture manager. I would like to see a shot of the kids.

ok i will use microsoft pic and make them smaller so that you can check out the grow. Yea I stick with mainly distilled water. So much easier then dealing with the hassle.

Ok since I made the pics smaller hopefully they will post this time. The first 4 pics are when they first started showing their pretty little faces. the last 3 are the 2nd wk of veg. Once the camara recharges I will take some better shots.

Any advice is welcomed thoughout this thread.

Well my Ph level was WWWAAAAAYYYY high today, so I got that taken care of. I should receive my nutes tomorrow so no more miricale grow. Thank goodness. I will take some more pics tomorrow

Well I had some yellowing on the ends of my leaves. My Ph is 5.7. They are watered for 15mins every 12 hrs.

I just got my new nutes in so I flushed for 2 days and now added the new nutes to the res.

If anyone has some suggestion Im all open to ideas. I will keep the pics coming as the grow progressives.


The third pic you can see some of the yellowing/brownish color on the edge of the leaves. Only 2 of them are showing the color. The others are fine.

Thats for the tip. I didnt know I could do it like that. Should make my journal better. I had sent you a message on YIM regarding a plant issue but hopefully the new nutes will take care of the issues. I will keep the pics going.

Here are some pics I just took of the girls. Hope you like. They are just starting week 3 of veg. Once they are 18in I will switch over to Flowering. I have 2WW and 3 unknown growing in my Ebb and Flow system.

If anyone have any feedback it will be greatly appeaciated. I know some of the leaves are brownish, but they are alot better then the other day. They have started to receive half dose of nutes. will up the dose as the veg continues.

Thanks 420....this is only my third grow and first time using the ebb and flow system. Im hoping for a good result.
