hey big new set-ups looking spot on, sorry to hear the bulb still hasn't arrived yet :-(

i would love a basement like that, what are the temps like down there?
Hey Tam, Thanks for stoppin in. Can't wait to get the new set up running. Things are alot more neat and tidy. I love useing the cfl's but it gets to be a pain when trying to deal withg all those cord's. LOL

The basemant runs about 12-14 degrees cooler than outside with temps in the old cab staying around 76f to 78f. Not sure whats going to happen with the temps in the new set-up, but I figure it should stay cool because of the filter exhausting outside.

DUDE! I know what you mean. I figured a way to make it a little easier to handle though: I label all the wires for my op with little tags and tape that attach to the cords near the outlets so I don't have to go around following the different cords to find what it is I'm about to unplug :) Makes everything a little more organized and easier to deal with

One or two HIDs are a lot easier to manage than 20 cfls!! But there is nothing wrong with cfls, just takes more work to manage.

Don't get me wrong now you guy's. I loves me some CFL's, but ya it does get a little old having to adjust them a couple times a day. Good news though. Got my HPS to replace the one that was defective. Put the ladies under it today and tyhey are already liking it. Gotta get in touch with the CMH distributor and find out WTF.

Heres A couple pic's under the HPS.

Hey GB, you are correct. They have already shown an increase in thrich formation. And they packed on a little weight if I am seeing right? Maybe its just wishful thinking,LOL. I tore down the old cab and carted her of to the garage to be used for scrap or for heat this winter. I have left the veg cab in place but I am going to change things up a bit. Going to move the exhaust and intake to the side and seal the front tight for less light leaks. Then paint the front so it blends better.

So I had all these 65W CFL's just laying around and thought to myself:idea: I wonder if this will work? Let me know what ya think? Just a few little tweaks here and there and it will be done.

P.S.

Gumball, the temps are at a steady 78 so far with the CFL's and yep it is nice having the basement. That was one of my the reasons for me buying the house and the other was the garage, the wifes was all upstairs.. All insulated with an old Ben Franklin stove for heat. Got the tv and stereo going for the winter so I can watch some football while I'm out their tinkering around..

Its not aluminum foil, its prob the HVAC foil tape. Can't remember the name. Can't answer the reflectivity part though

Hey big not long till you'll be going chop chop snip snip!! That bulb been delivered yet?
Ya it's finally getting close. They are really starting to swell up and the eldest female is really starting to drip resin. tryrd getting a pic of it but it wont show up. maybe under this new bulb which I am still waiting to be delivered. The Fedex site says it is out on the truck for delivery so just waiting.

Does adding aluminium foil to one side of the CFL help reflect light onto the plant?
Welcome to the thread nate, Gumball is correct. That is foil tape thay use for HVAC to seal up the joints of the duct work. As for reflecting any light back, I would have to think a little. I read in a read somewhere about a guy who did it to his 4' flourecents so I figured why not. Can't hurt anything and it doesn't seem to be any hotter than normal. I had some beer can reflectors I made but they are way to small for the 65W bulbs. Maybe a coffee can would work? lol

Can't remeber the official name so we will just call it foil tape.

No Fedex yet!!!
