UPS came today and look what they dropped off. Hats off to HTG Supply for their quick shipping and value pricing. I knew the hood was a little flimsy but not as bad as I thought. It will do the job for now and if I want to upgrade in the future , the fixture will fit about 6-7 different ones.

Does not look like they will go under the 400 for a couple days. Had some new work come up and can't turn down the money. I am hoping by Monday for sure.

Oh ya, my PH pen showed up too so I gotta get some distilled water to calibrate it.

More pics,

Peace

Love the look of that ballast and hood. Is exactly what I am ordering as well. Lemme know how that unit works at igniting the bulb.

What ph pen you have? I have a Martini which is licensed by Milwaukee dual connection auto temperature calibration dual point electronic calibration. Also have a HM ppm meter, and a light meter same as Riddle's. That light meter expelled alot of myths for me. Number one is the side of a cfl throws more ftc's than the end. Not so. The bottom actually reads a tad bit higher than the side, but so close as I say it is the same. The myth is that the side emits more ftc's because there is more exposed bulb there. I always doubted this as the inside of the spiral has even more surface area as well as a crosstube. Well the meter busted that myth. Also a 2700 lumens (42 watt) bulb emits 7000 ftc's at 6 inches away and only gains 200 more lumens at 1 inch!!

The hood could use a little work but not that bad. You have to put the end caps on if ya want them but it is easy to do because it uses wing nuts to connect the light fixture to the hood. I then sealed the gaps with foil tape because the ends do not fit snuggly. I am not complaining because for $150.00( thats with three day select shipping) give or take , you get a complete 400w set-up with either HPS or MH. If you want to upgrade the hood later on, the light fixture will fit in like 6 or 7 different styles they sell.

My CMH has not showed up yet but I fired up the HPS to make sure it worked and it lit up nice and quite, no loud humming or anything. I am sure the rubber feet help with that. The fan works really well also. A little noisy but I am sure it will quite down with the filter attached and some ducting.

The PH pen is this one:http://www.suntekstore.com/Digital-pH-Meter-Tester---2-Pouches-of-Calibration-.html

I know its not the greatest but I have seen no complaints on it and it will get me to were I want to be with my PH. Says a +/_ .1 so pretty accurate for what I need. Still working on the light meter. Thats gonna have to wait for a little while.

I hope to get started installing the new equipment Monday morning. Gonna need the whole day to rearrange things the way I want them to be.

So my plates cleared for tomorrow and looks like all is a go for the new set-up.:hump: This will be the last post of pics showing the ladies under the CFL's. My next update will detail the new area and equipment installed. The CMH should be here tomorrow too, but if not then they will spend some more time under the cfls'. I could put them under the HPS bulb that came with it? What do ya think? Would it then cause a problem when I switch to the CMH?

Day 33 for pic 3 & 8, Day 40 for pic 1, pic 7 is the 12/12 from seed?, The toddlers are 25 days and the babies 12 days. Pic 2 is a group pic under the CFL's.

Thanks Pin, Those two girls had an extra week in the veg cab so I think thats why you are seeing a little better yield than the girl in pic 1. They are starting to bulk up now, I hope they explode when I get em under the 400w'er. Can't wait till my bulb gets here. Got the conformation today and it should be here by the 22nd. Not to happy with time it took to process the order(7 day's) but they took my money the next day.

Anyway, gonna get started on the move today.

Thanks for stopping in.

Yep, gonna be using them for supplemental lighting.
So here it is, the new set-up. Man I can't wait till the bulb gets here.

What ya think?:hump:

No problems with run off. Got the sump pump to take care of that. I tryed to keep everything so it can be broken down and put away if need be. That door in pic 4 is an old coal room completly sealed off. I figure about 1/2 hour to break it down and stuff it in there.

Thanks buddy. I tryed to design it with a big old K.I.S.S. in mind. Whats realy nice is I was able to keep the cost down to a minimum. I think I got the biggest bang for my buck so I feel good with this set-up. Can't wait to tear down the old cab so I can get my work bench back. Gonna rework the veg cab to but not sure how yet.

Just read your thread, nice looking buds.

Thought you might like how this guy set his grow room up. He has the same style of basement as you.
