thanks, bro. I am currently using Pure Blend Pro (soil), molasses, and humic acid. My ph is 6.4 atm.

I have been smoking the bagseed, its got a nice flavor and a great stone. i found pollen in just one of those little sacks (there were a lot, only one w/ pollen), so good thing I killed them. I got about an ounce and a half off of those two plants, and a shit ton of learning.

My purple kush actually looks like its nearing its peak, so I'm gonna harvest two of them now for the best high, and two of them in a few weeks to get that awesome purple my homies love to see.

I realize that my next grow will go quite differently, its time to start planning the new setup. more time for veg, earlier pruning, and way bigger plants sounds like a good start, also thinking about doin the organic water-only deal which sounds crazy convienient. I also want to ditch the p. kush, as its low yield is a bit frustrating. The purps looks great, the shivas are almost there, and the last 2 bagseeds (now officially named "Bearded Dragon") are looking fabulous. Otherwise, my only issue is waiting for some good smoke w/in a week or two. :peace:

all right, my is usually 6,4 - 6,7 and it works great, but whats the story with this organic water?
sorry to be vague, I am referring to using soil with organic additives that never needs additional nutrition to be mixed in w/ the water. I don't know much about it, but its a pain to be constantly measuring and sometimes burning. I most likely wont go through with it, but its an option. and btw, I use tap water, nuthin organic or fancy bout it. :peace: brutha

Wow school's been nuts, and taking pics with my phone is tough to get right, but anyways... All the plants have filled out nicely, I chopped the two shivas, one of the kush's (first to finish), and one of the purps. All are now drying at different stages. I'm only running the 600w right now, as there are now only eight plants! yeah, fuck PG&E...

As you can see, I finally figured out how to post pics correctly! convenient!

the first pic is the room a few days ago, the second is a bearded dragon top nug, and the third is the mendo purps (the one I beheaded and am drying). as always, leave me some love, comments, whatever. :peace:

thanks bro, that reminds me: I have been smoking the purple kush for a day or two now, and i am extremely impressed! It's flavor is musky and intense, with a slight kushy sweetness. It smells up my whole house when I open the damn jar. So I might just keep it around, despite the pitiful yields. such a great high and flavor, even barely cured!

I'm looking forward to trying the mature purps, it smells like a mango making love to a pineapple.

The shiva's, btw, are truly the worst plant for SOG in my book, as each one will dry out to about 6-7 grams. the clones were, however, crappy from the start, so oh well more knowledge for next time. The bagseed's stalks each have more on them than the shiva skunks did individually.

I have decided to switch primarily to green crack on the next round, as my buddy has obtained a strong mother of it!!!!!! short flowering, great yields, pungeant... at least thats what he told me. I'll prolly flower one or two kushs, definetly two purps, and the rest will be g. crack (prolly 8-12)!

anyways, figured I'd make up for the lost time, gotta love overcompensation.

:joint: yeah, thanks joker, I got off my cyber ass and gave my garden and my journal some love... passin the j to you bro, sweet sweet medicine! :joint:

Lemme just say I looooooove purple kush, some of the sweetest smoke I have every blazed! I have harvested all but four plants, one purps (as an experiment on trichome developement versus its sisters), one bagseed and two purple kushs. Everything else is either drying, being smoked, or curing... It's almost time to reflect on this grow, there's quite a bit i'll need to cover. that can wait for the last 4 to be done, though, as can the extreme cleaning of my apartment.

As you can see, I pulled the biggest, juiciest of the two bearded dragons out of the garden, because it FUCKING HERMED just like my others seeds. thankfully it only just started, and I just finished the flush on that plant so perfect timing, phew. So after these are dead, I am going to be more vigilant about light leaks for sure, and never use seed again. oh well, still amazing smoke and so far I've only found 3 seeds total!

Anywho, my next post will be the final pics and some yield info, as well as my planning for the next grow. thanks to any who checked this out along the way, now I can take this experience and yield a shitload of green crack next season! :peace:

Ok, I need to post a few more pics b4 the grow's over, as I killed Lady Shiva the Purple of Kush (my first plant) today, and strung her up shamelessly. I really dig the trimming method of fdd2blk it makes that shit easy and it looks professional. I only have TWO left under light, but i'm gonna throw 2-4 more plants in and try and bust them out before early july, as I'm vacationing then.

RIP, my sweet cultivation cherry.

Lady Shiva the Purple of Kush
(not to be confused with shiva skunk, which is an altogether different strain I grow.)

The first pic is of my drying room this morning, most of that got trimmed today. The second pic I just took, that's Lady Shiva, a purps, and the big bearded dragon. The third pic is the Lady, as is the fourth. :peace:

their lookin nice man, think early july is cuttin it a little early for flowering time for the new ones though?

yes it is early, but i'm tempted to do it anyways just to not waste that time without developing plants... these plants all finished quite early (good trichs at 6-7 wks on some) as they were short... I already have the vegging plants ready to go so...... what do you think?

if they are clones that can be expected to flower in the same time then i would say you probably wouldnt have to worry if you start them in 12-12 now

actually the veg plants are about 1.5 months old so they are more than ready... I just have to identify the bagseed clones and destroy those herm bastards. I think I'll just keep this thread alive and keep on trucking, then after july is when I get a real perpetual setup goin!

I hope you stick around bro, i think ill continue learning like crazy! I just picked up the four babies and gave them their first nights sleep ever. They aren't 1.5 months, that was inaccurate... but they are all around 11-12 inches, so they should finish just in time. what were you growin joker, and how?

the midgets i chopped were bagseed in soil. they were actually about six months old maybe older, they were from my first go in this town and im pretty sure the MG soil mixed with the hard ass water here locked em all out at a whole two inches tall. once the nicer weather came around is when i got my HPS and finally found a place that sold soil that wasnt MG so i killed most of the first ones off but i transplanted two and just left the other three on my freezing cement garage floor for months. the two i initally transplanted went male and the three on the floor sat there and did absolutely nothing for a few months and when i got sick of lookin at them i pulled them only to realize they were actually really healthy lookin so i took all three of them with what little roots they had left after getting ripped out of their pots and stuck them in a shared pot with the new soil. it worked out nicely cause there was a nice spot under my light that had been freshly vacated by a male plant. like two days after stickin them in the new soil two of them were growin hairs and the other one pretty much died. that was about four or five weeks ago and although both the plants got substantially bigger they always had some weak stems and never showed much promise so i chopped them yesterday and tried the oven drying method:spew:and it wasnt that great to say the least.

that is exactly why I swore never to use seeds again, until I have a need for males in the distant future. Pollen just fucking sucks... I'm sorry to hear of your losses bro, but you musta learned a bunch. I hope you keep growing, and get the plants your lungs deserve. also, the oven is an evil pit of satan breath, not ganja's homie, haha

So I am usually pretty lazy in general, but yesterday I finally put together my new vacuum, emptied out the old pots, nasty tarp, dirty fan, and plants from my garden and cleaned everything (fuck pollen) including the very dusty fan. My guru had given me a hydro tray for free, so I'm just gonna water on it, with a container under the drainage holes to catch the runoff water. This shall make my life way easier, those little plastic dish things suck (inconvenient). Here it is:

The last bagseed still hasn't fully matured, but I haven't seen any pollen sacks on it yet, and don't expect to. I'll chop it w/in a day or three! I have decided to no longer use the portable ac (its crazy expensive to add on to my power bill), so I'm looking for a used exhaust fan, time to ebay all day.

With these four plants of yet unknown lineage, I will not be training too much, and I will only supercrop in the case of the tall plant, which was pinched at the grow tip... I sure hope they finish in time.

Anyways, :peace: and love

Now that the last budding plant is ready to be cut in about an hour, I'd like to look back at what I did wrong and right in this grow. I learned a lot about this plant these past months, and I hope to develop that further. I ripped the bold parts from the FAQ---

First time growers frequently:
Overwater their medium based plants.

On this grow, I did have some watering confusion in the early stages, and killed two baby seedlings. these were the last plants I unintentionally killed so far! If anything, I let the plants dry a little too much, but I think I get the hang of it for sure.
Overfeed their plants.
Yeah, I nute burned some plants in veg. It was pretty bad. I will hopefully never make that mistake again. I also had some issues with general overfeeding, but I never encountered any horrible deficiencies just some clawed leaves.
Overanalyze their grow.
I thought I would be guilty of this, but I'm pretty proud of myself. I check them daily, but I give them their own space and they give me bud...
Overspend on grow supplies.
guilty. I bought a bunch of shit before I even had my first plant, but all in all I made it all back and then some! and the equiptment with stay with me till it craps out.
Overpost.
I did my research on RIU for months before I ever posted once. I'm clean on this one.
Talk about their grow.
I am usually a big loudmouth, but in this case it turned out great. because I told my friend, he decided to invest in a bunch of equipment and help me! without that help, I'd have shit for buds (only a 400w, no ac). but otherwise, only cool people know, and I'm 100% legal so its all gravy.

Some other issues: gnats, HERMing plants, seeds (only a dozen or so), high electric bills, pulled some branches for personal smoke way too early big mistake, didn't veg long enough.

But... all in all I am insanely satisfied. my largest bagseed plant yield 1.5 oz officially and that is amazing smoke. That's also decent for a 2 ft. plant on my first grow all on my own! That purple kush is nuts, my friends are crazy about it. I'm enjoying not paying for ganja no more!

I don't have the final yield info, its not all dry. I will be posting my second season on here though, so I will post it when I know. I will also be starting a new thread kinda soon about my next setup, planning and execution, after this season. knowledge is power! :peace:
