it looks nice, but why didnt you wait until the pistols turned gold,brown, or reddish in color...? they look rather white, they need time for those glands to mature.

so you prune your plants as they continue through they're flowering stage? it looks like you're trimming off the lower sets to keep growth on the top and away from the soil.....

What's your thought process on pruning away premature buds???? just curious?

Otherwise kudos they're looking great.

thanks bro. actually most trichs were cloudy (which is the correct way to measure rather than pistols), but also I really needed the space for the next season, and the kushs had already taken a month too long. but fear not, it has one of the strongest highs and best flavors i've ever encountered.

sometimes i do trim the lower stalks, sometimes i dont. its really based on their vigor/ benefit to me. on the last generation i tried to leave as much as i could on. i like to experiment with it, i've gotten great results both ways. i just like to meddle.

thanks a lot bro, i've put a lot of work into learning the science of herb growing. in terms of premie buds, i have a confusing track record. the first season i pulled a bunch early just for smoke, besides that I only trim anything off if its in the way or if its detracting from the whole plant. my first grow i got WAY too excited, but i learned a shit-ton from it.

so I took more clones, they are looking nice and healthy.
I also thinned the p. kushs out a bit, i'll have pics tomorrow.
four clones have rooted and been put in soil, now i'm just waiting for the other five to pop, and the new clones of course.
I'm planning to do a staggered harvest with 6 kushs starting now and 6 in two or three weeks.
this way fits my facilities better, as I have little space to dry.
also, I have the big purps plant i'm gonna get a screen on within a few days from now.
anyways, that's my grow status, now i'm gonna go get gone!

The first pic is one of the p kush mommas after i took some clones and thinned her fat ass out. kush fucking loves to be pruned, its crazy...

anyways, tonight i transplanted my mendo purps plant from a 3gal bucket to a much bigger one. the second and third pics are of the plant in its old home.

i'm not sure on the capacity of the new pot (prolly 7 gal), but as you can see in the fourth pic its nice and big. the next step is a screen on that bitch!

sup dude... my kush moms are almost fully recovered from the thinning/clones, they're growing so fast now. the mendo purps will prolly get a screen, but i might just tie it up a lot... what should i use for a screen if i do try this route?

the purps actually has over 15 distinct tops, those photos cant capture the whole thing in one shot. I'm fucking psyched to see what it does, it already has tons of pistils which makes me think its autoflowering (which is fine by me).

I use rapid rooter pellets which go into beer pong cups with miracle grow when i see roots. after this early stage I use only foxfarm ocean forest w/ perlite. I also amend the soil with humic acid, molasses, dark energy and supernova. this soil is reletively cheap (I got a hook up last time as well, buy one get one free on the giant bags) and works great. I would take some time to try new soils, but i'd rather just use what works, and switch to hydro when I can afford to go all out!

You start them in Miracle grow huh? I heard that has a lot of nutes in it and burns. Yours don't look that way.

Theres lots of types of screen out there. i use the chicken wire. I guess the proper way to say it is poultry netting. Its cheap and works fine. Just tying them down works too. Thats what I am doing now.

true true, soil does have its forgiving perks... I've used MG soil in the past with really poor results generally, but the kush can take anything i throw at it basically. the leaf tips look a little burnt which is worth it for the convenience of mg auto nutes. as for the big 'un, I think i'm gonna be a lazy stoner and just tie it down a bit with bamboo stakes. I have the next few days off, so i'll prolly get some pics sooner than later...
