4 the Newbies... Keep it simple

This thread is really off track. Imagine all the chat room garbage a new grower will need to sift through to get to "chapter 3." Nobody wants to read 9 pages of chit chat for Four posts worth of good information.

Personally, I think you should keep threads on topic...
But then again... Apparently, I don't understand what it is you are trying to accomplish here.

I think this thread was a good idea at one time but now you're going to need to start all over to create a resource people will actually use. Just too bad really.

Here's the wonderful part of it all... this is my thread... and these are newbies talking about their plants and asking questions past the information... Thanks GKZ!

I'm just to come out and say it.

I had no intention of "plagiarizing" anything. Just needed to fix all of the terrible, inaccurate, advice so that one new grower wouldn't be misled by another new grower.

The irony here is that this thread is the blind leading the blind. Noobs leading noobs. I have a wealth of knowledge and experience, I shared it, and you girls got all fucking huffy about it. "It's mine, my thread, I own it, I made it, I will do what I want in it." Fine... Mislead people. Unintentionally place poor information.

There's a reason there isn't a harvest chapter yet. I think the most likely reason is that the owner of this thread has never had a successful harvest... Much less an entire grow from seed to smoke. One grow wouldn't even cover it when new growers have access to people who have dozens of harvests and years of experience.

It's like doing something one time, like snowboarding, and then thinking you'd be the best person to teach someone else how to snowboard. Then when the Ski instructor comes by and says "That's not entirely true, you should really be doing 'this'" How dare that educated snowboarding instructor with years of experience try to correct a new boarder trying to teach someone else.

Seriously though. I'm -sub'd. You can have this thread. For anyone looking for accurate advice based on years of research AND practice then you can send me a PM. Otherwise have fun sifting through stories about visiting car dealerships.

Maybe once you've accomplished a grow or two and have some experience under your belt you can climb back up on that high horse. Until then maybe you shouldn't shoot down someone just trying to assist you and the people who are victim to your theories.

dude, why dont you guys do what i suggested earlier and just work together on a new thread for different levels of growing, step by step, both of yall have good information, just for two different levels of experience

If this thread irritates you, then why do you keep coming back to it? This is supposed to be a SIMPLE start for new growers to get the general idea/information... They are supposed to do their own research as well, but this takes a little time out of it. People don't need someone telling them exactly what to do/ what products to use, they are supposed to learn and grow and develop their own growing technique as they progress. Find the products they like... Sorry if I haven't had the time to add the chapters you are looking for, but I have other things going on in my day to day. Again, as GKZ stated, I will most likely revise and re-edit to make a full chapter by chapter thread, but in the mean time, people are coming here to ask questions... to figure out how they can do this themselves, with their own time, money and resources. You obviously are too experienced to appreciate people trying to discuss and learn... Sorry we don't have these massive grows under our belt, but guess what... Thats why we are here. Maybe you should spend less time in the Newbie forums, and more time in the advanced forum... You can keep your pompous 'huffy girl' remarks to yourself. Go ahead... piss off all the growing women out there. And as always... thanks for stopping by!

'Just needed to fix all of the terrible, inaccurate, advice'...
What exactly was so terrible and inaccurate, other than for the fact that the information Capt wrote pertained to soil, and you seem to think that coco is the only way to grow? You changed the medium from soil to coco, and proceeded to 'red pen' everything to fit that, and your preferred grow methods. I've read tons from veteran growers like Uncle Ben, and there was no glaringly bad or inaccurate advice from the OP. You seem to have a very high opinion of yourself yet you've only been a member for 6 months, regardless of how much growing experience you claim to have. Anyone can claim anything they want on here, and there is really no way to know who is full of shit and who isn't...one of the pitfalls of the internet forum. You may, in fact, have some useful information to impart...but you come off like a pompous ass that nobody wants to hear from. You might also want to refrain from telling the OP what they can and can not discuss on their own thread. If you find it becomes tedious, then start your own thread and talk about whatever you choose to, and abandon that which distresses you so much. The only one here who seems to be on a 'high horse', is the 'ski instructor'!

u dont need the rooting powder or gel its just recommended, and aids in the rooting process, iv cloned from a tree 4 weeks on bloom and it took ages but they got there and only lost 2 out of 8, i wont be doing a clone cycle again tho on bloom as it just takes a weeeeeee bit longer

I learned how to do it. How do I know if I have any? It says I can't give you any more. I read about the razor and 45 degree angle but i don't understand the rooting powder thing. I've put plants in water before and had roots grow without any special equipment. I wonder if you need this root powder. I don't feel like going to the hydro store again. Maybe I can order from amazon.

you're a stay at home mom?

Kudo's to the Gals, I say you go girls! :hump:

Shame that some just don't get it, but girls are most usually better growers than guys something to do with basic nurturing skills and patience :) Ladies check out threads by LacyGirl, Research Kitty or Doeeyed you'll see what I mean

yeah there is some questionable info placed here (mostly by the guy) things like "don't wanna be smoking P" which is not possible and there are things missing (as has been pointed out) but the KISS (Keep It Stupid Simple) premise is the best way to approach learning for all new growers.

The single most important thing that a new grower can learn is that it is the sum of all parts in your garden that make for a good grow and that each part should be dialed in properly to achieve this balance. The tricky part is that no 2 gardens are the same so what works for one grower will not work for another and learning to read the plants for signs & indicators that the plants are happy & thriving is the best thing you can learn

I have been teaching new growers here for some time now as well as saving plants in trouble, I would happily like to offer my assistance to you ladies if you ever need it just PM me anytime :)

vrainoire... hi, and thanks for stoping by! What type of soil and lights? And how close are your lights? Need a bit more information about your grow to help... from just the pictures its hard to tell, but it looks like 2 possibilities. Maybe the start of a nitrogen def, possibly light burn- also those leaves will yellow and wither off, but it seems a bit early for your plants to be doing this.

clwhsr... hi! and thank you... do you have your own grow thread> if not, we would love to see some pictures!

Wavey and Riddleme!!! Thanks you guys!!!

@vrainnoire- im having thesame problem, but no diagnosis yet, i thought it could be the lights like cptbooyah said, moved my lights up, and nothing changed on the plant so far so i think that it was the lights

@clwksh- glad to have you on board hope you can figure out how to post pics and get a grow journal btw im assuming you did the rep at 312am, you have to click i approve to give points and if you want people to know who it was for some reason you have to type it in the p.s

I would just replant those babies... those tiny squares they are growing in... I cant imagine there is a whole lot of space for root development. Also, If you can, get a Y splitter from a local hardware store... run at least 2 bulbs. Ladies love light... and cfls can be as close as 2 inches.
