Wow interesting grow, I'm just starting my grow (cabinet will be finished this week, tomorrow hopefully) and will be taking from seed under a t5 and I'm considering a 600hps for flowering but I'm interested in LEDs since there is alot of talk about them, I won't be purchasing a flowering light for a month or so anyways so your grow will certainly help me out there. Subbed! Btw in terms of base cost do you have a cost/watt or cost/unit? Not electricity that honestly is of less concern than heat which these would be significantly cooler I would imagine.

Well, thanks I try to keep it simple and it seems to be working. I have learned from my experience, that SCROGGing is the best way to go with LEDs. The plants thrive and you can be sure that you will have an even canopy of colas while maximizing yield. I thought penetration would be an issue using LEDs, but from this grow and last grow, it really seems that the light is penetrating the canopy just fine. If you make sure to trim your plants if your not scrogging, you should be getting dense buds even at the bottom of your plant. Besides that, I would keep in mind while using LEDs that the soil remains a little more damp longer, and you should supplement your waterings with a Dehumidifier if your growing in a tent like me. I had issues with PM last grow, and I have made my adjustments this time around. I keep my lights about 14 inches away during vegg, and during flowering I move them closer at about 6 inches away from the canopy. Setting up your lights so that your plants are in the "sweet spot" is essential. Using more lights evenly spaced in your grow area is a lot better than having one 500 watter covering a large space, due to the "sweet spot" limitation with one unit. Umm... otherwise it is very advantageous using LEDs with lower energy costs, ac costs, and you can get away with using small quiet fans for intake and exhaust. If you are talking about a commercial grow, LEDs are getting there, but the cost are a little more expensive to set up.

FYI, I use the same LED from clone to flower. I don't have to switch lights and I have no problems with stretching or any lighting deficiencies. My whole setup was probably around $1300. Each light was $550 a piece, but I got a sponsorship on the second light, grow tent is about $100, and all those little fans are about $160. I save on AC and obviously energy consumption.

that could be why my room is 82 all summer long but i dont really know what killed them soldering on the board is my guess, as i iopened them up to see what was wrong after gotham would not help me out. i switched power supply same result. im gonna pull the light board out next see what i can see

I read on the manufacturers recommendations the lights should be in a temperature of 75 and below to have 100% power from the lights. Anything higher reduces the amount of light emmitted from each diode. I don't know if this is an actual fact or fiction.

I have my house thermostat set at 76 degrees and my tent is 5-7 degrees higher. I havent had any issues with the lights going out or any malfunctions so far. (knocks on wood)

ive had nothing but first rate support, buddy of mine lost three early gen lights they had made in the same week and they had new ones on his doorstep before he had even shipped out the old ones. Also the new ones were new models for the new year as well. Maybe it was how you went about it? Not sayin you did anything wrong, really sucks that your not gettin your satisfaction from them. Because they hooked me and my boys up when we were running blackstars. Im still usin my 240, probably gonna get a new one here soon. Hope you figure out how to fix em yourself man or that BS gets back to you.

they have gotten back to me but when they said they shipped me new lights it was the same ones i sent them. maybe a mistake i dunno but they deny that they did it and refuse to warranty these ones. shit if i did send these back i would have almost bought a new light with all the shipping paid. but whatever i found a new light i like better in the same price range. i got 1 350 and 2 240 over a 4x4 dwc. i wont drop the name of my new lights thats not what this post is about.

I am also happy with the customer service with Gotham hydro. Victor has always been very accommodating with any questions I had prior to me buying my lights. I got exactly what I asked for and my lights have been working perfectly for me. Try calling him and tell him the problems your having.
