Nothing wrong with glh lights but the price. Still a great light! I'm paying $12-$15 a clone. Next run I'm planning to grow from seed something unique.

So since we are all waiting on these girls to dry up like a 55 year old woman in menopause....I decided to take some pics for you to see what they are looking like. They are still pretty moist still to the touch, and haven't really looked like they are losing much weight yet. Must be the cold rainy weather slowing down the process! I was tempted to put my dehumidifier in there to speed up the process, but I opted against it because I want the taste and high to be there. No rush waiting 3 months to screw it up at the end. I want the perfect dry buds with about 15% moisture in them before I start curing. Anyways, enjoy!

Edit: I really need to do a final trimming on these buds later, we were pretty tired and did a shit job! Sorry!

Came out real good man nice chunky nug good Ol blackstars. I'm waitin to hear total pull from this I'm interested because i been lookin at photonics LEDs again thanks to jubaire. Guy did a grow on here with a 280 watt draw led from them for flower and pulled 13 Ozs off of four plants and he had issues the while grow too that light runs 1100 and for two blackstars 500 or one of those hmm usually I'd go blackstar but I don't know he's predicting close to 20 zips this pull off that light from same amount of plants I'm nutting in my pants and I'm abou to shell out the scrill for a 140 watt draw as another guy pulled four zips off of four 1.5 foot plants lol no training. I see lots of potential here I wanna do a side by side with my blackstar which draws about the same lol

So after a 5 day dry I checked to see that the buds were crispy on the outside and moist in the inside. The stem bends and almost snaps but not quite. Decided to do a preliminary weigh in and got the following results per plant:

Plant 1: 92.7 grams

Plant 2: 75.8 grams

Plant 3: 94.7 grams

Plant 4: 102.7 grams

Plant 5: 43.8 grams (OG Herojuana)

Plant 6: 106.8 grams

Total: 516.5 grams or 18.44 oz or 1 pound 2.44 oz

516.5 grams/608 watts= .85g/w

This is excluding the 6 grams I picked over time to smoke and test out. I will weigh again after a week cure to get a final weight. I will weigh out how much buds I take out to smoke from any jars to keep the weight accurate.The buds have turned a dark green and the hairs are really red. Trichs giisten under the lights, and the smoke is white and smooth. THC and taste will start getting better over the next few weeks.

I just stared my first LED grow and with all the differnet opinions out there I wasnt sure what to expect. After looking at your grow and the way my palnts are responding to the LED's just after a few days I feel confident the LED will give the desired results. VERY NICE JOB!

Congrats! Must be very dense because it looks like half of that weight. Smoke down time!

The taste is still developing, but the smoke is very smooth already. No grabbing your throat after hitting it! The buds are very dense.

Thanks Shwagbag! I was hoping for 12 oz at least and this totally surprised me! I am happy so far, but am skeptical of the weight also! The buds ARE very dense, but I will do a re weigh in about another week to see how accurate those numbers are! Either way I will have more than the 12 oz I was hoping for! To break a pound off LEDs would be awesome!

For you guys growing with LEDS, are you doing more trimming to allow more light penetration?

I hear mixed reviews on this because removing too many leaves can limit the "solar panels" of the plant but I know LED doesn't penetrate deep into bushy canopies.

Thoughts?

I have removed several fan leaves, it does open up more light into the lower buds. I notice considerable change in the lower buds if I remove them, and not much change in the rest of the plant. For me, I always try to top my plants and spread out the canopy. 500s penetrate only so much.

During the peak of flowering I will trim so more light does penetrate the bottom of the plant. Nothing excessive, just normal trimming.

blackstars are good for the money when they work ...

i had a 500 and a 240 500 broke after 3 months they refused to replace under warranty blocked my emails and hung up when i called so i did a credit card chargeback which visa found in my favour took a month for there investigation i saved all my emails with gothem hydro which helped

then some dude a month after i got my money back from visa from gothem rang me up an threatened to dob me in to the dea which i found funny since i am ex dea ( no use fighting an unwinable war got out while the getting out was good some time ago now) and am medical patient myself now

be carefull with this company even though this was an idol threat doesnt mean they wouldnt dog someone for real!

went back to hps didnt find led's to be all that ... yet

A lot of that story sounds like bullshit but yea, Lighthouse Hydro has shitty as shit customer service.

Awesome journal Sleezy! This is great news regarding what you can get from 500's... When you get time check out my Blackstar/bubbleponic (Hydro/DWC) journal, in a nutshell Blackstars work completely awesome with this type of system and growth is off the hook. I have had my fair share of issues due to my nutty strain that has a mind of its own but in the future consider experimenting with your lights and a hydro/dwc! I'll PM you my journal as it's external to this site.

Again props for the hella grams from blackstars!

Never had a problem with them. I talk to Victor over at Gotham and he always takes care of me. Guess its who you know..
