600w DWC Medical Grow- First Timer

coming in late, but i just got caught up on the thread. the buds are looking great! also that purple stuff is a true beaut'.

could you show a pic or drop some details of your cooler/res set up? i'm researching before i start a DWC and that sounds like a good idea.

thats pretty much exactly what i did, cept i used 16 air stones off of 8 dual outlet pumps, the little cheap ones... 30 gallon (120qt) cooler.

also, just so you know, using a cooler is hands down the best shit i did for myself... temps are so much more steady than in a tote...

nice, did you start flushing....give that 2 or 3 weeks tops and chop her down.... she could go right now and would be good smoke...congrats

next res change im lowering the ppms possibly... im not flushing for any period longer than a week, and think it will only amount to a few days of clean water.

just ordered a USB microscope, should be here in a couple weeks... ive got a pocket scope already, but this will allow me to get some pics of the trichs...

nice, although I can see your trich just fine, you are around peak thc levels at this time so I would start flush right now personally and chop her down in a week or so that is my standard practice, another couple weeks certainly wont hurt thou, how much it will help is questionable...anyway the choice is yours - but you made it far enough so congrats and good work...

to explain...your trichomes are all bulbous and the vast majority are opaque, many trichomes have the lean to them, your buds have swollen and are secreting resin, most pistols have receded and gained that brownish tint to it...your growing a sativa dominant hybrid here and from today to the next few weeks is your prime harvest window, the thc is actually past the peak potency right now...trust me my friend you dont want the CBN unless its for a medical reason and your thc is soon going to CBN.. Those purp buds you showed us look as if they got harvested even earlier then your grow right now by the way, just for a frame of reference.

Now, being a soil grower I flush for a full 2 weeks...hydro is much different....but point still stands...they are ready so dont put it off chopping it much longer unless you got the time to kill..you wont be disappointed...thanks


also dont knock on the flushing..its an important technique, you want the plant to use its stored up energy in the leaves for a better tasting, smoother, better burning smoke...so yeah...start your flush soon and do it for 1 to 2 weeks b4 u finally chop her...my 2 cents..

ive been watching the trichs, non have hit amber yet, and only about half have popped their mushroom head... right now they are mostly clear under the scope... they still have every bit of 2 weeks of flower left... as for the flush, im cutting nutes to 30-50% this res change coming up, and then flushing for a week, part of which will be a clearex flush...

lol its cool, i talk to deprave fairly often, and he lives near me... probably heard about how i dig heady sativa smoke lol...

however, i am going to cut a chunk off for some strictly daytime smoke earlier than the rest... the rest of it i want to be heavy on the body, and good sleep aid... im gonna be taking samples and running the percentages in the field of view of the camera or scope, and will probably chop around 35-40% amber...

ah ok so you do have medical reason, I cant stand overdone bud myself it wears my whole body down all day and kill the day for me, if sleep is what she is after then yea you want to overdo it...my bad it looks in the pictures as if all of them have bulbous head and are opaque..guess the pics are deceiving.

just keep in mind some sativa dom strains like this never turn amber - they just all turn opaque and it keeps adding new growth over and over for months and months

yea, i look at a lot more macro shots than i upload... theres some areas that arent even mushroomed at all yet... i just know its too early, its still mid-6th week.... they can pack on more weight though i wont complain...

pic update of my clones... the ones in dirt im just letting em do their thing, not too worried about them, dwc clones are taking off like crazy... a little K def i think, res change tonite...




humidity has been around 30%, and temp 78 in the closet.... never used a humidity dome, and everything looks fine... im about to LST my mother, im just gonna have the bitch on lean from now on, after i move the other two into the flower tent when these are done... mid-next cycle, im gonna be adding 2 1kw, or 2 600w, havent decided yet, and growing out more strains...

res change last night on veg plants, res change today on flower tent...

got in there today and managed to grab the 2 colas that were just laying on the screen in the very back corner and tied them up... now everything is all off the walls and all is well... sprayed with azamax and cleaned up some dead leaves that were at the bottom of the dense growth... checked for any evidence of bud rot, and all is looking good.. my rh has been around 30-35%, and i havent had to use the dehumidifier... really kinda curious as to when the plants will be ready for harvest, i think im gonna harvest most of it around halloween, then drop the light and let the rest do its thing for a couple more weeks... the largest colas that are like 12" from the light have begun to spring more nodes off the top... this happened when i lowered the light, so now it almost looks like they have some antenna buds lol... ive heard that can happen with longer flowering sativas, they just keep gettin taller if you let em... heres some pics, it looks as though i had some K def maybe on the vegging plants but im not too sure... could be burn. i let the ppms get a little high in that res one day but only up to about 600... then i was thinking it could possibly had been some damage from spraying with azamax, as i think it causes some damage on my larger plants if the runoff just accumulates on the leaves edges, but again im not sure... anyways, heres some quick pics:




one other thing about the vegging plants. i just started using dyna-gro foliage pro, which has very low P, so i ended up going half and half with foliage pro, and grow, and 1 part pro-tekt to boost P in the case that it was what was causing the leaf damage...

everything is cool, just sitting back watching the trichs... not really much to report, picked up some h2o2 35% to see if that may help with the ph swings low, but i dont think bacteria is an issue, we will see... got canna-oil in the crockpot, made with a bunch of purps XD

Currently incapacitated on the couch from a brownie... I don't think much is getting done today...

Figured I would treat with h2o2 to see if it would fix my daily Ph dropping, added 2.5ml/gallon 35% and the plants did not like it... I woke up from a brownie coma to find the leaves were drooping badly... did a quick flush with Ph'd water and did a fresh batch of soup and pumped it in... had to snip one popcorn site off as the stem had bent bad, its hanging now to dry.... the large growth appears to be ok, we will see what it looks like tomorrow I guess...

I am anti H2O2.....It has no way to target the bad from the good fungi and bacteria...Took it off my nute shelf after my DWC jalapenos died from it.
