A simple organic garden

Well after a few years of lurking and indulging myself in all of the knowledge I decided to make a thread. I live in the heart of the bible belt so I've always been sketched out to post, or even keep pictures of recent grows but last week my gf and I visted California and I decided to grow some balls and make a thread. loved it out there and would love to make another trip and possibly never come back. Anyways quick breakdown of past runs and what's going on currently: started with DWC and all the bottled crappy nutes. After struggling with root rot and tired of spending money on nutes I started reading nothing but the organic section on here. Bought some ffof and ffhf , mixed them both, added EWC and some local compost from our landfill, watered with just water or a little water molasses mixed and voila!! It's that easy. Played around with teas and whatnot just to see what the hype was about and I saved a few recipes for my aresenal. Enough rambling, here's a few pics I haven't been sketched enough to delete. First pic is a mix of Swiss cheese, a bag seed, and a pineapple kush freebie. All in organic compost/ffof/EWC/perlite water and tea only. Second is the Swiss cheese cola. Would've been denser but I was using a cheap led.

forgot to mention they start in 1/2 gallon pots and finish in 5 gal bags

Nice grow! I started much the same way but my first grow was soil and Miracle grow which would've turned out good had I not picked em way early. Then years later I was doing DWC and fighting root rot which sucked & brought me right back to doing organic soil which is the way to go. I just water em & go to work; don't miss checking ph and ppms and timing the flush...lame.
Have the same reservations about sharing pics & what not but I've been on here for years & seems like nobody cares; especially local authorities

Yeah my gf smokes just as much if not more than me so when we first started dating I was visiting "our guy" quite regularly and it hit me one day: "why don't I just grow it my damn self" so I started researching and 3 years later here we are! Started with a crappy Chinese led that would barely pack any weight on and now I'm using a 400 watt hps and man what a difference!! Also experimenting around with mainlining this grow. I Just wanted to thank all the organic gurus on here for all the great Info!!! Once I visted Cali and saw just how legit the medicinal world is out there I started laughing at how much of a joke the south is. I def can't wait to introduce myself more to all the guys I've been following and taking advice from on here. Yall don't know me but I've read all the threads and seen all the pictures to where I feel we are friends haha! I'm just a good ole boy who doesn't buy into the "reefer madness" craze. It's a plant put here for our healing, no Johnny law is gonna convince me differently

Wifey said hey you know you spent almost $500 on weed last month? We can't afford this shit.... My "friend" was charging $120 1/4 oz & i was down for one every week but once I started growing my own I realized how long I was getting beat over the head for mediocre nuggets. It was funny I ran into him a few weeks ago and smoked him out with some nice hash I made; he said oh I see why I never get calls from you anymore....we should hang out more lol

Same way around here man. Everything is just called "loud" and sometimes it will be good and sometimes it will be bad, you get what you get. I'm like you though, after spending a car payment a month on "loud" I decided to grow my own and mine is a god dang Metallica concert compared to what I've been sold

Welcome, your story sounds too familiar. I was super paranoid about sharing on here, but that has past. Just be sure to not take a pic of a box with your address or something and dont Skype a live feed of your room lol... Shit you not, someone on here wanted to Skype with me and it made my blood go cold! Other than that, I really wouldnt worry. I think that there are enough "legit" people on here that we dont get monitored. Might catch some attention if you show a 10+ light grow. I am only saying this because I am probably in the same situation. I used to get scared of the helicopters flying over, I am more relaxed now. Is your state one of them that has a petition going around?

I was in the "Hallucinatory Substances" section trying to learn about mushrooms when I was asked to Skype. Yeah, I bet that if any section on here is monitored, it would be that section. They talk about a lot of illegal in there, I stay away now.

Thanks for the kind words! Yeah I've never sent any pics or Skyped haha once I find my sd card I'll have a few more pics of the grow I posted in my first post. Had a thousand or so and then a close call made me delete most but I did save a few for the day I finally decided to post on here haha currently im doing the same soil set up with 2 bag seeds going(heavy indicas). I do have a jar with full of TGA genetics and some killer master kush seeds(happened to find 4 in a like bud). Oh and luckily I found ONE lone seed from my trip last week to Cali!! It was a 100% sativa I believe called wiz Kalifa or something along those lines. All I know is my buddy asked what I wanted and I said "Idc I just want 100% sativa" haha I'm saving all my labeled seeds for when the gf and I decide to buy a house for good so they can get all the love and attention they want. Just wanted to use this thread to post of a little of my personal grow, introduce myself and gain some trust on here so feel free to post anything relavent! ......oh and I believe we have a petition for medicinal use, but I have this bad feeling even if it's allowed to be grown here they are gonna regulate who gets cards, who can grow, and unless you're a good ole boy with someone in the big house or pocket full of money I highly doubt they're gonna let you grow...just my feeling though

Your cheapo led could be an asset during flowering. I use mine as side lighting works ok; more

That makes me wanna post there; I'll toss up some pics of my own boomers when they get to growing. Pm me if ya need any shroom info mustang; been doing this awhile. Somebody pmmed me about sharing spore prints; just kind of uncomfortable about that... The free sharing of ideas and info is protected by 1st amendment so fuck em.
I feel the same about legal weed where I live in the northeast. They got medical already but I doubt they will ever just let peeps grow their own without buying a license or some kind of bullshit. A lot of greased palms just to get what we have now which is overly regulated and run by mj industry execs and corrupted officials. Eliminating the black market is not even on their radar

the led mixed with the hps would make them more dense right? Eventually I aim to get a 1000 water or 2, maybe even make my own cob(but I start reading 10 mins into it and get lost) haha

I use a 300 watt led with a 1000 watt hps and 600 watt MH. My goal is to provide the best light spectrum I can. I feel you on your reservations on posting pictures. Took me a while too.

Thank ya sir! Everything I read has been true: build the right soil and your plants will thrive. I never had such lush green fan leaves with hydro, always some kind of nute burn on the tips.

These are two bagseeds I have going now. I have both mainlined for 4 now and debating going for 8 bc of time. They got dry during our trip to California and kinda hit a stalemate so I've nursed them back into healthy growth now. Under a few 6500k & 5000k cfls. You can kinda see the structure in the last picture. Both in local compost mixed with some perlite/EWC. I'm dropping the ffof this run to see if anything changes. 1gal smart pots soon to be 5 gal grow bags once they grow a little more. Nothing fancy, but it works for me. Just wanna sneak this run in before summer is over. Thanks for looking!

You hit the nail on the head my friend! I absolutely love organics. I was gonna try my hand at supersoil but after about a year of reading into orgsnics and reading through teaming with microbes and all that jazz I decided our local compost mixed with some perlite and EWC hasn't let me down yet. Any sign or nute deficency and I hit them with a tea. Can't get much simpler than that. Supersoil has Amazing results don't get me wrong but at the end of the day my mix is 20 times cheaper and it still grows good trees. Hell our local landfill with fill the bed of your truck up with compost for 10$

California is wonderful in that you don't have to look over your shoulder in regards to cannabis. And obviously the Emerald Triangle grows some of the best stuff in the world. BUT it is expensive to live here and only getting worse. I can't even imagine buying a home here. And I find the people moving here (in ridiculous numbers) are generally impatient, rude, gentrifying...

AND legalization of weed will most likely be a total mess, playing into the hands of big corporations.

Oh well, call me an idiot but I'm heading to the South...guess the grass is always greener

Ps. Don't want to be a total downer! You got some good looking plants. And I'm glad you went organic. Keep working on it and hopefully whatever state you are in will go legal at some point and you can grow for a living.

I feel ya man, i'm on the central CA coast, and I can't buy a fuckin park-bench for less than a half million.
and typical down on a half mill, is at LEAST 5%..
but then your monthly is up your ass, and the yearly taxes are too.
the key is to get land you can build a couple cabins on, and rent to people you trust, and let them pay most the mortgage..
but then ya gotta find and trust people...

I feel bad for people who've grown up in CA and can't afford shit anymore. I'm kinda nomadic. Grew up overseas and have only been here 7-8 years so I don't have deep roots. Easier for me to up and leave.
