Advanced Stealth Hydro Bubbeponics Thread

Oh I do like Fox Farms, they do sell or market a fertilizer for Japanese Maples (which I have 20 of). But I guess that is just hype too! Oh and I really do use it for the Maples, not tomatoes or peppers.

You need to find out at which conversion your Meter is using. You should be able to go on the manufactures web site and find out. Then you need to find out which conversion your nutrient company is using, if they don't show you EC. This is why everyone should start to know EC, it is the universal language, like the metric system!

I know Roseman posted an "EC conversion chart" a week or so ago. It converted EC to two different "somethings" that were related to the kind of meter I think. All I know is my meter is a TDS-3 and you calibrate it with NaCI (whatever that is)

I know my meter is not a Milwaukee, and I don't think it's a Hanna. It's made by HM Digital. I was hoping the H might be for Hanna, but went to their site, and it's not Hanna's site.

Unfortunatey, even the long description of my meter on their site doesn't mention if it's the same as either Milwaukee or Hanna.

So, my EC is either 1.41 or 1.97 - unless HM Digital has a whole other conversion factor.

So my EC is cool when I measure it in the one gallon that has the nutes for the whole tank. Then when I add that gallon and measure the tank 15 minutes later it reads way high. But it also says you can't take a reading in water with bubbles. I got 4 stones in there and you can't see the water from the bubbles. I may turn off the air pump for a minute and measure then. It should be the about the same as the one gallon measurement.

Well, I measured it with no bubbles and now it's even higher. It's 1020, which converts to 2.04 - I should be in full bloom. LOL

My plants seem to be doing real good. Next Monday when I do my drain/replenish again I'm going to measure the 5 gallons of distilled with nothing in them before I add the gallon with nutes. I gotta figure this out now. LOL

Listening to Frampton Comes Alive with headphones as I type this - I haven't heard this for a long time.

Your using the COM-100 right... it's Hm-digital. You can just use the ppm setting on the tds meter, little easier and no conversion necessary.. use the 442 setting under ppm. You hold down the Hold button I think to change the settings.

No, I've got the TDS-3. Thanks though msn.

(I was listening to "E.C. Was Here" by Clapton, and had to think for a minute when I first started reading your post about EC. LOL

now you guys are really losing me. all i know is my ppm and i honestly havent checked my ppm in weeks. ive been mixing my mix for so long i know what to put in.

best of luck to all.:peace:

somewhere in your direction the meter came with it says "don't take a reading in bubbly water"??

E.C. was here is one of my top 5 all favorite albums. He was really medicated when he made that album.

Yes he was. Hey Rose - have you ever seen the move "The Rolling Stones Rock & Roll Circus"? It's got Eric, The Stones, The Who, Jethro Tull, John Lennon, Taj Mahal, and some others. It's really cool. Anyway - you can just look at Eric's eyes on that video, and he's in some other world - he is SUPER medicated. It was filmed in 1968 so that's when he was doing smack.
