Also I would let the pump run 24/7 and get a ps2 power cord and plug it into the AG hood and the other end into a light timer (radioshack for both). Here's my white widow at 33 days.

thanx man. As for the lights currently I'm using 4 40watt soft white cfls I currently have them all running including the pump 24/0. As for the timers for when I go 12/12 I have all of my lights plugged into a surge protector which is then plugged into a light timer from radioshack. The ps2 cord comes in handy if you need to higher your hood past the AG limits and you can put the AG hood on the same timer as your lights while the pump runs 24/0. I just recently added the extra cfls but I would recommend using them from the start it makes them more bushy. I have 4 more lights to add when I start flowering.

But here's why it's right for yours truly, at least so far (five weeks in, and so far so good...)

One of the nice things about getting OLD is that you learn not to BS yourself...it saves so much aggravation in the long run. You know what you "should" do...but you also know what you really "will" do. And if not for the AG--a self-contained and relatively idiot-proof little system--I never even would have considered trying to grow.

Any success I may have with the AG might give me confidence to try a more "productive" setup in the future. Then I can still use the AG for cherry tomatoes or fresh herbs or whatever. (Or resell the thing on craigslist).

I teach middle-aged and older people how to use computers, and it's the same with any new skill. A lot of folks are completely intimidated at first, and afraid to even touch anything lest they break it. I felt the same way about growing. But with enough hand-holding--whether it's learning the computer or learning to grow--many nervous newbies can gain confidence in their baby-level skills and become brave enough to try something more advanced.

Finally, I'm in favor of anything that enables adults to grow a personal crop in a discreet, convenient way. When personal growing becomes widespread enough, prohibition just might go away. (Hey, I can dream, can't I?)

Just my $0.02...and no, I don't own any stock in AERO!
