My last recirculating hydro grow was all automated with arduinos and sensors and pumps and a pi lamp server. It was cool. I could control and track from anywhere. It used npt for timers. Set programs and schedules, etc. Log all data and graph it. Worked great. Reliable. Had great results. Using the watch guard is a nice failsafe too.
I’ve since simplified. I use Blumats for watering organic supersoil and z-wave sockets to control my leds with various methods (including Alexa) I use a simple arduino controller with some various sensors to detect light levels and control my a/c, dehumidifier, co2 etc accordingly with solid state relays.
It’s funny. I finally had things perfect (for the time being) and then decide to go organic and simplify. I never stop tinkering. Such a stoner.
Have fun with your projects my friend. I know I do.
