Totally new to beer. Many of you may know that.
I wanted to start a thread dedicated solely to beer.
But I used the search function and found this oldie but hopefully goody.
What is your absolute favorite beer and why?
Mine’s the grapefruit beer because it doesn’t taste like beer HA
PS I can’t drink often cause the mrs is a wino Barbie but when I do it’s citrus

I like German Beers the best specifically Hofbrau. The taste is something to behold.
The Germans sure know their beer. The country literally has in total approximately 1,300 breweries
producing about 5000 brands of beer. They have the highest density of breweries in the world.
I used to have a unopened beer
collection of about 300 beers from all over the world. No Independents, Micro-brews etc..
When I collected, I always bought 2 of the same brand that way I would be able to try one and save one
for my collection as well. Love the dark's also. One of the dark's I had, can't remember the name but the
bottle label was silver with black medieval looking script. Strong contrast over the black beer inside the bottle.
The beer was like tar heavy taste.

On another note, The Benedictine Weihenstephan Abbey (Weihenstephan north of Munich Germany) Founded 725 which established the oldest still-operating brewery in the world in 1040.
