The turkey tail has few mimics so you really need to know what your doing. Chaga only grows on paper birch.

Week 29 - Flower Week 13

A beautiful Indian Summer day at the gh

Pic 2 - Finally some elbow room!
Pic 3 - The three remaining girls this morining.
Pic 4 - Was surprised to see Kosher Kush (the Jew Gold) was ready! Hadn't planned to chop for a couple more days, but she showed me what I wanted to see.
Pic 5 - KK after being defiled.
Pic 6 - Kicking back with a cigar celebrating a damn good grow! Of my 6, KK was the best grown. Dark green leaves until two weeks ago. Solid buds. Just what I wanted! Amazingly overpowering earthy kush aroma while chopping. Still searching for adjectives to describe the aroma.

Back to fall conditions, 24F outside when I got up this morning at 6am, 43F inside the GH. Tora Bora prepped last night to come down this morning. These temps should really bring out the purple in her. Not a huge yielder, very similar to the LA Confidential in her lineage. My last two plants are grouped together so I can get by this season without bringing in the propane heat. :p

I have two oil filled heaters with a fan blowing air on them so they are probably warmer than the ceiling thermometer suggests. Finished jarring the Green Crack last night, maybe 3.5 gallons of bud. Still cycling from jars to paper bags to get the moisture lower before starting a burping routine. Some big dense buds holding a lot of interior moisture so it is taking a while to get them in the curing zone. Trimmed them just a little early just to even out my trimming routine for the next couple weeks. Hoping to start trimming the Mekong tonight but may have to wait another day.

Happy Halloween! Made my last chop this morning! After seven long months my grow season is over and there is nothing left but the trimming. Will post some smoke reports in a month or so. Early sampling just tastes wet so I'm done sampling until they dry and cure out a bit.

hey bugeye,

got a quick question for you. In your gardens have you ever run across a strain that always shows Cal Mg def? Im working with black gold organic soil, cut with bat guano, perlite, castings, and compost. I been feeding AACT teas 2x a week with fish meal, kelp meal, castings, molassess, and alternate every other time with fruit bat guano and veg bat guano. I also throw them 4 ML/ gallon of Cal Mg from general organics. Its been the same thing I have done for well over a year now and my plants have always seemed to love it. Stay green like I want them to, and have robust growth and flowers. However I have run across one of my strains now that constantly shows cal mg def. and keeps losing the lowest sets of fan leaves. I was wondering what you would recommend? I don't want to flower a unhealthy plant, but at the same time, they are getting to be quite large now as I have kept delaying flower to see if this CAL mg issue is over. Oh by they way, they are in 5 gallon smart pots indoors under 600 Watt MH.

EDIT-noticed one other factor. I have 5 teens of this particular prob strain. Its actually one of my favs to flower to. I have wanted to test out different training techniques to see how it really effects yeild. Anyway, the ones that were mainlined/topped have shown the CAL MG def the longest and most consistently. The plant that was just allowed to "freely" grow has only minor shown the deficiency.

Thanks man!

Hey papa, sorry to hear it. There are strains known as cal/mag whores that never seem to get enough. If you want to post some pics here or refer me to where you have them posted I'd be glad to take a look and see if I have any ideas.

Thanks! Whew, just did about 12 hours of trimming on the Chocolope Kush and filled almost 4 gallons. Think I still have a bit on the line so maybe tomorrow we'll finish her off!

The master at work, well done.

I went to Afficianado's seeds website, they sell weed leaf cigars wrapped in 24k gold leaf. I imagine they are massive expensive. With your super healthy perfect leaves you should give it a go :)

Well, my fan leaves are not looking so good anymore as they sit in compost piles! I love cigars and I love mj, but no real interest in combining them for me. I think it would be a bitch to roll them and not end up with a poor draw.

Hey papa, was thinking more about your issue after getting some sleep and here are a couple thoughts for you. If your are feeding and watering at 4ml/gallon and still showing a deficiency, I would start to think about lockout issues because it seems strange to have a deficiency at such a dosage. If it is more on the bottom leaves it would be magnesium. Assuming your ph is good, magnesium will lockout from too much potassium or from too much calcium, according to nutrient antagonism charts. Calcium will lockout from too much phosphorous but this would also stimulate magnesium absorption so I doubt that is your issue.

When I am in doubt, I find it never hurts to run a quick $5 soil test just to see where the NPK are at. This might be worth doing just to get more data points. Hope this helps, or at least gives you more ideas.
