The rich carry what 95% of the wealth and the poor who make up 95% of the population get 5% if I recall correctly. It's fair to assume most anyone arguing against higher taxation on the rich in fact isn't rich at all and never would be, and wouldn't feel any burden from further taxation only the benefit. All you blue collar workers and lower management white collar and small business owners who cling to being republican so you can feel more succeful than you really are fight and fight and fight against things that have nothing to do with you and will never affect you negatively. NOBODY ON THIS BOARD IS RICH, you are all the poor masses you just happen to be getting by better than others but in reality you're going nowhere and will likely NEVER actually make it into that 5% group that needs higher taxation.

If you aren't sucking down millions stop fighting, you're the people that would benefit from socialized medicine and higher taxes on the truly ritch.

Open your damn eyes and realize you are poor too, republican or not, you'll be lucky to work your entire life and put your kids through a good school and save for retirement on top of that. You better hope you don't have major medical problems or that you aren't laid off or that your kids don't get cancer or your little business doesn't fall because you're walking the same tightrope the poor are.

I'm not suggesting we need more welfare babies and should support deadbeats what I am saying is we are all getting the shaft and you're voting for it.

You've never traveled to other countries and seen what better worry free lives others enjoy. Many countries residents get complete free health care, complete free education including college, etc etc. They don't have to work 3 jobs to send their kids to a good school or have their kids work full time just to go to college at the same time they are supposed to be able to focus on their scooling etc. They have better opportunities than we do, all it takes is the will to do more and go to school.

While nothing is truly free, the cost spread across everyone, with the rich paying a much larger percentage works out way better than what we have here. We are mistreated slaves by comparison.

If you want to make millions and keep it all and say fuck the rest of the world, let them die and suffer, then there are places like Liberia. I'm sure you could hire an army to protect your mansion there.

Lack of principle and a deficient sense of common sense makes you poor, too.

So does believing %'s spoon fed to you. Poor you.

If by 'sensitive' you mean 'perceptive' you are correct.

But I reiterate, discerning the tone of a posted comment is fraught with uncertainty.

I don't believe anything I read or hear until I get a whole lot of confirmation from other sources and even still I use my head and my own judgement. I'm not a follower or a religous type so don't assume what you don't know.

Those figures seem to stand unless you know something all the rest don't.

So, if you get a "whole lot of confirmation" from "all the rest", you'll believe anything?

Do you want to save the planet from yourself, too?

Well, you have been able to live with yourself thus far. So, congratulations on that. It must have been a real challenge at times, but you pulled through, it seems.
Yeah, sometimes it was/is. I'm just glad I don't have to live with the likes of you. I'd probably commit mayhem, and I'm generally a very peaceful person.

Until the governor and the state legislature decides to tear up the union contracts of the California Public Employees Union, and address the over-the-top pension programs, California's budget problems will not go away.

Oh, and now for the latest update: The California Teacher's Association is asking for a raise in teacher's salaries.

Here we are in the midst of a recession and the California legislature raises the sales tax, the income tax, the car tax, the corporate tax ... and now the teacher tax?

2010 here we come!

hey VI.. whats going on with the legalization talks out in cali these days..
Well, Ahhnold mentioned it as a way to raise tax revenue. The Correctional Officer's Union and all the police unions along with anyone else who makes their money based upon the state's power to try, convict, jail and punish are against it.

Honestly, I believe we now have in California the dumbest governor of all time.

idk vi the fact he held debate on whether legalisation or not combined with the other 13 states to my knowledge pressin for legalisation might prove to be a good step. then again we DO have a president who promised to pull all troops in 12 months, now sending more and and spending billions more on the same war he prclaimed to withdraw from. i think its almost time for me to look into to living cost somewhere else.

Well, you know, maybe this "not" surge will result in the troops getting pulled out in 12 months with another false victory speech. I believe that John McCain was telling the truth when he said we were going to be in Iraq FOREVER.

Meet Bush the Second... just like Bush the First, but black.

Lol

No, I meant McCain, he was the one that was saying that we would be in Iraq forever.

Obama was the one that was saying we would withdraw ... soon ... eventually ... sooner than later ... uhm, whenever? ... at the end of eternity

But yeah, they are all the same. Spineless entities that repeat empty hollow rhetoric in a avaricious attempt to get more power.
