What would be an ideal CMH bulb for the following tent dimensions(48x24x60)? Riddleme says a 250 watt should grow a couple plants no problem. Would a 400 watt CMH be overkill? Would heat be an issue? Torn between the two. Always thought is was 50 watts per square foot. I've got 8 square feet so should I go with a 400?

50 watts per sq ft is a minimum rule of thumb, I like to go with 100 watts a plant so it depends on how many plants you want to grow and yes you will have to deal with more heat if you put a 400 watter in a tent
Gotcha..Will the 250 wash out having to cover this area? Seems a little big for the wattage. I want to grow 2-4 plants in this area. Followed a grow with the same tent dimensions but the farmer grew out 8 small plants with a 400 hps. Have no problem going with either. There is short demand for remote 250 watt magnetic hps ballasts. I can find the 400 watt everywhere. Most 250 's are in an "all in one housing" light, ballast, and hood. Not a fan of this as it creates excess heat. Riddle, you think the 250 is adequate? if so I can pick up an Agro Star hps ballsat with air cooled hood from HTG for $190.00
Ya..I was kinda leanin towards the 400 and will deal with heat issues as they arise. It makes more sense as I'm on a fixed budget and won't be upgrading for awhile. Thanks for the link to icmag and the CMH forum, these bulbs are starting to gain traction. Gonna see if there is an industrial lighting center to find these Phillips bulbs. I'm quite sure there is a huge mark up. Read somewhere on icmag where a guy picked a Phillips retro fit for $22.00. Will be watching your 'balls out grow' cmh thread. Grow on!!

they look fantastic in real life, purple and yellow, with a hint of blue in the purple in the buds.
as i have no seeds of this strain and they are difficult to come by i hermed them for seeds and pollen. the bud i have picked already is killer. ha-too stoned too post!
i'm gonna have alot of fun with this strain. and i think it has alot of medical potential. it's very uplifting and motivating

I actually have thought about that, never done it but who knows may try, I have grafted before when I was young my Dad and I used to graft different plants together we did a peach and apple tree that was so cool, started gardening cause I was a boyscout (Dad was a Weblo leader, Mom was a Cub Den Mother) so yeah have done a lot of gardening

they will wick the water until they figure out it is useless to do so, why it takes 10 ~ 12 days
10 - 12 days really??/ i water cured for only 7 days changing the water every day.... turned out just fine

you drown the roots of a living plant for 10 to 12 days before harvest

Hey Riddleme, have you seen the Hortilux blue full spectrum bulbs? http://www.eyehortilux.com/blue.html the spectrum looks similar to the CMH. Pretty expensive though.

I checked the tric's on Mini-Matilda today. She's at 61 days flowering. I see plenty of cloudy tric's and a spider mite. After a close inspection it has enough to harvest NOW instead of in a solid week like I planned. Not covered. by any means, but still. I was thinking clip the whole plant and put it in the deep freeze for a day. Then dry and cure like normal. Any advice?
Remember the caregiver I told about the CMH, then saw his whole set-up? I stopped by later with the H.G. and he was dealing with a S.M. plant he got from someone else. I was like 'dude get it out. they're evil'
He wasn't too worried.
I might have picked it up there on that first tour. God people suck sometimes. Sorry M.M. had a rough ending week.

I would not freeze then hang to dry, you'll lose a lot of trichs, once frozen they will easily break off as you handle itI checked the tric's on Mini-Matilda today. She's at 61 days flowering. Thats sucks about the S.M.'s. Is putting the plant in the freezer to kill them? Not sure what would happen to the plant though? Hope that dude didn't know of the SM's before you came over? If he did, he should have warned ya about them so you could take precaution's. Unfortunately people do suck some times.

There is a lot of good advice on cruzer101 greenhouse thread. If you need the link I'll post for you. sucks about the mites though, will the sulfur burner help? I think 1am5toned said the sulfur burners worked for bugs, just don't know if spider mites are included.
I think JSGamber used the foggers with great success as well.
