Correct - you don't. I have a healthy and bushy clone taken from a flowering lady (monster cropping) and that one took 63 days to root and that one was also cloned in plain water. Clipped on Halloween and planted Jan 2.BTW for everyone doing all this crazy shit to start clones, I took 10 on NOV 24th, did nothing but put them in a cup of water. No dome, no misting, no nothing. I changed the tap water once a week and had 9-10 take root. They took from 3-5 weeks! But they all rooted lol. I know real growers can’t wait 5 weeks lol. But just goes to show you don’t need anything fancy.
I wanted to see how long cloning would take in water and for me, a 2 month wait is too long. 3 - 5 weeks is too long.
The reason that folks do "all this crazy shit" is because waiting for 1 - 3 extra weeks severely messes up a good veg-clone-flower rotation. And all of my crazy shit only costs me a total of $40.
