I got some wind burn on my plants right now. But it only seem to affect the 3 closest to the fan and its only in spots were the tips rub something constantly. BUT it does look just like that, dry but not so brown, more yellow green. How much nutes are you using, it looks like she may be lackin a little Nitrogen.

Just to be safe inspect the roots thoroughly. Root rot looks just like that before it gets bad. And it usually only starts with one plant. Dig up some of that hydroton and check to see if any roots are brown or gooey. And of course check the bottom too.

heres what i use its 7-9-5
Sorry i havnt responded sooner i was freaking out b/c i could tell someone had been through my house while i was gone and my roommate is outta town. But it turned out he gave his brother the key and he was over to get a cell phone charger. Freaked for nothing.

Anyways, glad to hear its not root rot. Anyway i was looking at your roots and the tips look burnt. That would definitely cause your dried tips.

Do all the plants roots look like that?

To high of nutes will burn root tips and make the plants droop. Only if the nutes are really high do you see burn.

How many tsp per gallon are you using?

there newest nodes r kinda orange, not sure what that means. Any ideas???
You feed every 5.5 hrs? I thought you were using DWC? If so you feed constantly at low levels. If thats a drip system or ebb and flow, i understand. Basil is pretty easy to grow, it loves water, and it doesnt have a high requirement for nutrients, so its hard to kill it.

Its a bubbleponic system DWC. Heres some pics of the air stone and water pump to feed nutes to each net pot

Ok so i went into my personal notes on when i added nutes on 2-11-09. The nutes mixing recipe is 2-3 tsp per gallon, at that time i had 4 gallons in there so i just added 4 tsp of nutes instead of recommended 8-12, so half of lowest required amount was added.
Today i checked reservoir and its at 3 and a quarter H2O level so i added 1 gal of H2O(mixed thoroughly), and nothing else (no nutes). PH is at 6.0
No PPM meter, but i should b safe as what u have read with my nute amount.
