hmmmm....wonder if i will have to modify the floodlights at all (heatsink)[/url]
The problem is the reflector size really. Getting them attached you've got some options at least. I got a ghetto setup ready for them but now I'm thinking something nicer. And I've seen different colors on one, but never different whites. Anyone?

And PSU I'm getting mine from a guy in my town's Chinatown area that I've been dealing with for a while now, we're just waiting on Honk Kong right now. Those pix I just threw up because I showed something like them to this guy when I got my new phone from him and 2 days later he said he could get them. But I will say this about dealing with this guy, everything is real but it's always something. Like the phone (Nokia) is real, but it's the international version and was in another language and came with some big ass non-Nokia adapter. So we'll see. I'm probably not getting gold plating, probably low grade aluminum or worse case scenario they're from some batch of diodes that failed some QA test, but again I'm getting 30 watt XP-Es with drivers and the price I'm getting is not as good as the EBay/Ali ones, but better than Mouser. I actually wanted XPGs but couldn't get them from him. I could of got some XT-Es but the price was weak and they're overkill for what I want. But pix will be forthcoming. And thanks for caring. :joint:

Wait! Franjan! I was looking at the cool whites yesterday....but i want the warm whites.....couldnt find any (wonder if they do combos of the 2?) ....I think i am going to order one and compare.....im sure it will wipe the floor of what i have....

Edit: found them. :) http://www.aliexpress.com/item/1-Piece-50W-3000-3500K-High-Power-Cree-XPG-Chip-Gold-Plated-Copper-Circuit-Board-High/784261122.html
oo, that would be very nice in the floodlights :D.. Once i get mine working, I think using some of those would be ideal.
Do they look like they would fit right in the floods, without requiring a different driver?

Before you guys buy anything I would confirm in fact that they are Cree xpg or xp-e?? In the description it says both! ask for a closeup from the supplier and I'm sure EH could verify it's validity. $23 dollars for 50w of CREE on a "GOLD-plated copper circuit board"!? I smell BS personally, if true it's quite a find for the price fellas:)
I was yapping with the 'supplier' and he assured me these were XPG...and if they are then they are the lowest bins possible i guess....But i will ask for some actual photos from the supplier. i'll buy one....if it is bullshit then i i will be out $23. I let you know. :)

Cant help with the whites...let us know about the 'crees'... :)

It is shit that you had problems with your floods multi. I hope that the new drivers resolves the issue and you can join us in 'floodlight heaven' (where there is light.. :) )

As Fran said there will have to be some mod with the reflector....but gotta try these things huh!

The existing 50w flood drivers will work with these 'XPG's'

How many amps do your spot's drivers put out? I'll be running my XP-Es at 1000mA, but I got a feeling those Chinese spots don't put out more than 650 mA, which should be okay but without knowing voltage/amps/wattage and the fact drivers are pretty cheap, (at least the cheap ones are :)), I would get new drivers instead of risking the "CREE"s.

And were's PF @, it's time for him to start dropping custom made bulbs!

There ya go ChroniK, just make ya own CREE bulbs. I've seen those little drivers they use and you could probably fit at least 2 drivers in there. Multi-whites anyone?

My spots or floods...? sorry i get confuzzled on the terms for diffferent lights....my household globes (spots) put out 600-650mA and my floods driver are rated at 1500mA...but i will check when my lights come on

Yes...where is Pet....this is his bitch! :D

I guess 2 x drivers in that small enclosure will put out a bit more heat huh? Got to be done to test though huh.... :)

Haha, funnily enough I was considering making some screw-in deepred supplements to sell to the CFL/screw-in crowd :X

Pistils really starting to redden up....(especially the Pineapple Express) everything looks healthy as we approach week 6. No problem with room or overcrowding....c'mon 660nm driver!

Planted 3 x rooted 'black strains' into my 'Magicmix'...should start to see them revert back to veg in the next 7 days....

Yeah me too bruv....itz weird how much you read on' cloning in flower is hard to do and the success rate is crap rah rah'....well these rooted faster then my vegetative mother cuttings...go figure.. :)

It alwayz amazes me the amount of people who have never tried something....but are suddenly an authority...because they 'heard it' or 'read it' or 'know a guy'....not my way.

and beacuse of this...i actually thought cloning at harvest was impossible....

Spot on. I didn't think it would be that easy. Now I am curious if there was anything special you did?
Give me the information... #6

Hahaha....classic! :D

Well basically i used the same method i use when doing 'regular cloning'....using my trusty bubble cloner of course....

- Cut rough branches off the lower harvested plant....this was outdoors and they were without water for around 45minutes (also a so called 'no no'... :-P)
- Trimmed down the branches and flowers when i got home and put in fulvic and humic acid (with aerated water)
- Razored the stem about 3cm from bottom to get rid of the woody exterior....Then cut at angle of 45 degrees....
- Back in fulvic, humic mix until ready to be put in cloner

And thatz it.....

The only method I've ever had success with. Marvelous ! But there's one piece of info I am missing here. What pH are you at?

so help me out. I'm still reading and researching but you've said a few things in this thread that I'd like to understand better. You said something about a cool white push at some stage of your grow (within flowering). I've heard about 660 deep reds for finishing, and I've read about 730 far reds used to help the plants flip faster allowing for 14/10 light schedule in flowering. I've also seen SDS claiming 660 wasn't necessarily needed and might be harmful. Is there any consensus? So if I were making my LED setup configurable, I might consider pushing CW when? 660 when? And has anyone used 730nm besides the induction guys with the pontoons?

SDS decided to put osram oslons 660nm in his new panels that he built, so that may say something;-) NW(4500-5500k)/630/660 should be a good combo for veg->>flower, if going for minimal wattage I would dump the whites and add a "few" 460nm blue.

Running 730nm is tricky because it needs to be on a separate timer IMO.....but you could just use a FR led bulb on the cheap.
