I have had shit luck at cloning, too, and I think it's because I hover over them...Don't know why I do, when I don't hover over my plants, but I've always had them die. Some had no roots while others just started to grow nubs. I am tempted to buy a cloner, though, because it would be worth seeing if I have better results with one rather than continuing with failed results.

First time trying this method, seen it done and he had spikes shooting out the sides and bottom of the Bulbs. Have another of each in cloner too side by side to see how I can trim time seed to flower as there’s not much we can do to speed up flower time.

poor mans humidity dome. just take a solo plastic cup and put plastic sandwich baggie over it with rubber band and blow in to bag to puff it out. so step by step would be put 2 inches of soil in cup, wet the soil, pre poke hole in soil, cut clone and dip in whatever you like to use for cloning then into soil. tamp soil around stem. stick bag over cup and puff it like i mentioned earlier. Place where light can hit the bag to create visible moisture on inside of the plastic bag but do not place directly under intense light. take bag off every day for few minutes. after 2 weeks pop the plant out of cup and should have roots, if not give it few more days. Once see any roots you will then poke a small hole in top of bag making hole bigger everyday until ready to be in air.

you dont need an aerocloner. also the stem width doesnt really matter. or if you use a sharp scalpel or dull scissors. or if u cut below a node or above. people make a huge deal of it. the key to cloning is patience. sometimes it takes 3 weeks or more for plants to root. keeping the humidity level right and being patient. thats all it is.

i just cut any top off the plant leaving ~3 inches of stem, take off any growth below the top. trim the top to be about the diameter of a soda can. dip it in clonex gel and put it rockwool cube with really light nutrient solution (6 pH, 400 ppm) and put it under a humidity dome. leave it in the veg tent on 18/6. then i WAIT. sometimes for a month. 100% success rate.

I don't need an aerocloner, but it's sure handy to just drop cuttings into the machine and walk away. 12 days later, I can plant the rooted clones. No domes, no rockwool, no fiddling.

I think the whole point of those cloning boxes, though, is to speed up the process which, in turn, reduces the chances of someone like me from being impatient and damaging the clones while they are developing roots. You don't need a tire machine to remove or replace tires on a rim, either, but it sure is easier than using pry bars and sledge hammers :P

Tupperware, rapid rooters, razors, Iso alcohol and paper towels and you're golden....I found keeping stuff super sterelized helps here.No need to buy a fancy cloner, unless you want to as I'm sure they work well also. I have about a 90% success rate with just simple stuff though....Subcool showed me this years ago

I think some of you might like air layering. Find your clone. Do not cut off mother. Clip leaves off of rooting area. Scrape gently above and below node apply rooting hormone or not. Wrap with moist not wet soil in saran wrap, around the prepared node. Tie ends with twist ties. Cover that from light, black or brown plastic or paper or foil. Check the soil moisture add water by misting above the wrap, untying if needed and letting water run down stem to soil. Roots in 7-10 days. Cut below the rooted node and plant. No dome, no technology involved. Ive done this just to do it and works well. For a few clones off a mother its great. Cloning from clones best to have a lower but not lowest branch to air layer. Tops are a little trickier being vertical and sometimes too hot with lights or sun.

It's just a $20 3L humidifier with a foam plug stuck in the top, bin liner wrapped around to keep the roots dark, fan blowing on the bottom to stop it getting too hot. I just leave it sitting near the window. On the left is the original cutting potted up, two more on the go, I think I could fit four in the top.

Kudos for actually showing up to present your case after a request. Not many will do that.

Your little clone setup is a nice little thing that definitely would work on a small scale.

Thank you for not being someone who throws up pictures, but never comes back to show more when asked.

It feels like a reprieve almost.
