Co2 monitor sensor ppm reading

So I’m waiting for my Ram co2 controller and sensor and I was wondering what the deal is with the sensor and the ppm readings. Can I put the sensor at canopy height and it will read the co2 at that height ? Or does it read the whole room? Just thinking it will save on co2 if the controller only pumps co2 to canopy level and the controller only releases enough to reach canopy height

That depends on air movement. If you have fans blowing then its going everywhere no matter what. If it has zero air movement then i suppose your theory would work just fine assuming your releasing it under all the plants equally. Either way , i would have the sensor right below the canopy.

Ah right yea that makes sense, I got like 3 oscillating fans pointing down at the canopy

A can of expansion foam works great
Weather stripping around the door
Rubber sweep on the bottom of it
Well my set up is a room in a room. I built a timber frame with white panda film stapled to to it on the inside of the grow area, so the timber frame is visible from the outside, then a zip up door for entry. I’ve caulked the ceiling timber and the timbers that meet the wall either end. Then I’ve duct taped the fuck out of it too haha I’m hoping it’s ok. I’ve had to build my portable ac into the wall so the rear end where the intake is doesn’t suck all my co2 out haha SO much fuckimg around but hopefully wil be worth it

its time for me to add co2 myself but im too lazy. Thats a LOT of shit. intake, ac intake, outake/s. The outake is going to steal all my co2 so i would have to stop all movement for x amount of time , then turn it all back on..... fuck that seems like a lot.

You could just get a regular window AC
Some take fresh air from inside, but you can get some that don't. Those work great becusse you can just cut a hole in the wall and stick it in.
I didn't have that option since my walls are concrete, and I am using a grow tent. Fortunately I found someone on Facebook marketplace selling a dual hose AC really cheap. I have that hooked up to some booster fans for its intake and exhaust. It works amazing

hes right and im pretty sure the portable units are the same. its gets its air from inside the room. The one going out is just for heat to go out.

My portable works so wel I’m so happy with it. I had it in the room at first with the exhaust hose coming through my panda film and up through the ceiling into the loft but then I realised it will juts suck all my co2 in so had to reset it all. Literally cut a rectangle in the panda film, have the front of the unit where the cold air comes inside the grow room and the rear of it where the intake and and exhaust is out of the grow room so basically it’s half in half out, then I’ve juts duct taped the panda film round the whole unit and I’m hoping that should be air tight enough lol! Proper DIY job but fuckkkk it

Yeah I can't imagine how you could hook up a single hose portable unit so it doesn't suck out CO2, but it sounds like the OP rigged somthing up that might work
Just built it into the wall so the intake and exhaust (both on back of unit) are out the grow area and the cold air outlet is inside the room. The seal the panda film to the unit

Yea you can’t really run outake fan it will just cost loads of money in co2. Need ac to control the environment, I’m new to it myself but inthink
I’ve got it sussed now after tonnes of research and experimenting! Hopefully I get the 20-30% extra yield I keep hearing about !

Are you running lights on during the coldest period of your day? Your outside room / lung room can control much of the grow temp with vent cycles unless of course it's also hot.

im running lights on during the day atm and the environment is spot on atm, but that’s probably because It’s winter and the day time temps don’t get above 10 degrees where I am right now. When the summer comes i probably will switch to light on at night like you say

Well your portable AC has to pull the cold air from somewhere also, so it will be pushing non co2 enriched air into your room, right?

Yea I guess that will be the case but that will be fine won’t it? As long as the co2 I’m adding doesn’t get sucked out, I guess it will be regular air pumped in through the ac mixed with pure co2 that I’m adding

Yes that is true. but im thinking if you had your intake inside your room then it will just recycle your co2. the ONLY thing that gets vented and "wasted" is heat. The intake will just suck up your co2 and toss it right back into the room, mixed with cold air.
