Critical kush mainlined

I'm an admirer of mainlining....I say that because my attempts at mainlining has been not very pretty....and it's great to see such a great looking example of how it's supposed to be done.

I'm rooting you on, and can't wait to see this thing in full bud-mode.

Thanks lil,were you trying from seed or clone? Not all strains take to mainlining and the ones that do,it's much easier from seed.
 
If you click on my signature "Trying Uncle Ben's" you'll see my latest attempt at a mainline-type grow. It's time for me to post a recent pic, but can tell you that it's growing out pretty decently for a runt, and I just topped the four main colas tonight, so hopefully I too end up with 8 colas.
 
She's growing like a monster, another 2+ inches since yesterday so that makes over 10" in 6 days. I had to tie her up and cage her just to keep her under control so I installed a double ring. Turning on the side lighting tonight and adding 24 watts of T5 HO UV for 4 hours a day. Now all I need is to order the parts for my 660 nm LED light to add to the mix.
 
Another 2+ inches of growth,and after 7 days it's almost 14 inches. The UV goes to 2 hours tonight so I'm hoping the UV bulb that's rated like 6500k will help to slow this freight train down. She has leaves bigger than my hand now and I don't have small hands.

Lighting schedule update, lights on in 1 hour and I've upped it to 13/11. I'll watch the development for a couple days then move to 13.5/10.5. I've also increased the UV to 3 hours tonight. I wonder if the growth has slowed at all, 2+ inches a day can't last much longer I hope.
 
Well only 2 inches tonight, so she's slowing a little because the last few days have been 2.5 or more.
Thought I'd throw in a pic of her stem with a bic lighter, that's 55 days veg from seed and 8 days flower.
 
Well another 2" so she's not slowing as much as I hoped,if this keeps up I'll have to super crop her or I'll run out of cabinet height. Lights are set to 13/11 and 4 hours of UV in the middle of the cycle.
 
Well 10 days and 21" so far and no sign of slowing. I only have 13 more inches of height before I have to alter my duct work to get a few more inches. I can't believe this,mainlining is suppose to help with controlling height. What would this plant be like if I had left it alone from seed. I thought CK was not suppose to stretch a lot, this pheno sure does.
 
You can still bend her a bit if you are worried. Just don't be to aggressive.

I would think you would want to spread her out a bit anyway

I'm not sure what you mean. Those are 18 inch rings her 8 mains are tied to and her fan leaves are bent up against all four sides,there's no were to go but up. Unless I try to cork screw her up the cage but I think I'm to late for that.Super cropping might slow her some.
 
Bending her outside of those rings should also open up the center. Not real sure on training for CFL, seems like she will be a tricky one with all the reaching she is doing.

The cabinet is lit with LED and the last plant I had in here was not trained at all and only stretched from 19 inches to 36 inches tall.
 
Ahh, I dont think I have seen any socket LED grows. She does seem super healthy so thats great. I was a bit shocked on my grow as well since she is a lot heavier on the sativa side and stretched a good 10-12" more than my previous grow.

Most people have said they don't stretch much but I must of got a sativa pheno instead of a indica one. She's not stretching for lack of light, I got .9 grams per watt and 6 zips off the plant that just came out of here and you don't get that from not having enough light.
 
Nice yield, yeah seen a few LED grows going on right now that look amazing. See some really nice looking CFL grows to, just some really talented people here on RIU. Really temped to get one of the Area 51 SGS-160. Seen some great results and would be nice for a confined space because of the lower heat.
 
Found a description of the 3 pheno types for critical kush on seedfinder and I feel it's safe to say I have #3.

1.: short, compact, fastly blossoming, indica-dominant Phenotype #2
2.: long, compact, fastly blossoming, indica-dominant Phenotype #1
3.: long, stretched, fastly blossoming, sativa-dominant Phenotype #3

After 12 days she has stretched 25 inches,she looks great but I'm running out of room.
