I am voting yes.. this is a BIG step in the right direction. The laws will improve over time if it passes.
Don't worry about big companies growing massive amounts of weed and manipulating it, there's always gonna be fresh organic good stuff available, and cheaper than what it is now. Nothing wrong with prop 19, it's way better than the current situation, and if it doesn't pass, nobody is going to try to legalize it again, so is that really what you want those opposed to it?

See what he has to say about what we have to worry about when it comes to big coporations. California hasn't been practicing democratic capitalism, what is going on now is called monopoly capitalism. Think about, a marijuana corp forms, their main objective is to get rid of its competition. How does a weed corp kill its competition? By introducing a law that limits the amount of mmj a normal person can produce.

For sure i'll start a pot corp. I just gotta figure out how I'm gonna pull $250,000 out of my ass so I can purchase a commercial growers license. That what monopoly capitalism is all about controlling the market by eliminating your competition. If the competition can only grow 5x5 how are they to compete.

Why would you need $250k? That applies in Oakland city limits only. Even if you live in Oakland, just open up outside city limits. My county is trying to decide if the fee should be $1k or $2.5k. If you're a commercial grower and can't afford $2.5k then you're doing it wrong.

And then one day take always your right do business because more strict regulAtion is introduced by the city counsel. LOS ANGELES COUNTY. Which gives these weed corporations full control of the laws that regulate marijuana. Which is not good. Remember ENRON? California rolling blackouts. The government telling us to conserve on our electricity. This was cause by our government Gray davis being in bed with corporations causing us huge energy bills and being restricted from using something natural. Sound kinda like something goin on this day in age.

People bitching about more restrictions have either not read the law or just dont understand it. With a doctors recommendation you can grow as much as they perscribe. People that vote no and smoke pot dont know what they are voting no for. Also the argument that you get arrested if you have it when your under 21 is fucking stupid. What happens when you have booze under 21, same thing. Prop 19 will allow those who dont grow for medicinal reasons to do it without threat of arrest, those who do it for medicinal reasons can grow as much as the doctor says. SO IF YOUR DOCTOR SAYS YOU NEED 100X100 GROW AREA FOR YOUR MEDS YOU GET YOUR 100X100 AREA NO QUESTIONS ASKED.

There is no "so called corp", only real corporations. One mutual benefit non-profit, one LLC. They are just as legal and real as any other corporation.
That's always a possibility in any legal business.
What happened in LA has nothing to do with that. LA fucked up and allowed a loophole for any club to open as long as they filed a permit even if that permit had not been approved. What a mess.
You don't know what you're talking about. Corporations don't have the right to vote. Yes, they have the same rights as a human when it comes to free speech, and yes the supreme court ruled that money = speech. I thought that was a really bad decision, but I don't see your point here.
This is a pretty bizarre way to pick a fight with the American economic system in general. "i hate corporations therefor we need to continue prohibition!" wtf is that all about? Very very strange.
BTW - you do realize there have been very large scale cannabis businesses all over California for more than 40 years right? If you think all the bud in California has been grown by a few grandma's with a backyard garden then you really have no idea what is really going on.
Supporting prohibition because you think it will allow large cannabis businesses is absurd. There already are large cannabis businesses everywhere. Your basically opposing one group of big businesses so you can protect another group of big businesses. You're supporting prohibition to protect big illegal cannabis against big legal cannabis. You don't get the point!!!! Yeah I went on rant but no I wasn't saying that these corporations can walk up to the ballot box and drop their vote in. However they pay lawyers big money to create propositions like 19 that can be interpreted a million ways like the bible. Then they pay big money to lobbyist to try to convince dumbasses like you that this bill is LEGALIZATION when LEGALIZATION doesn't even appeAR in the title. These corporations along with our politicians create this confusion and TRICK dumbass to vote in THEIR best interest(not yours). That is the name of the game. Perfect example of that is the current TEA PARTY, the average joes of American voting to extend the tax cuts for the rich but against health care for their family and other average joes. I base my reason to vote no on 19 on the fact that in the last ten years since I've been paying attention to what goin on around me and I ve come to realize that politician don't have our best interest at heart. So when a bill like this pops up on the ballot you gotta be suspicious. Tax control and regulate doesnt mean less people in jail it means more.
And it definitely doesn't mean lower prices, lets do the math (tax+regulate+control=lower prices?) Incorrect. Now I'm ranting again.
why not treat pot like any other produce. it grows like tomatoes. tomatoes get taxed at the grocery store. only people who dont want this legal are the ones who arent compassionate and want to make a buck off it. WERE ALL WANTING THE SAME THING, TO BE ALLOWED TO SMOKE POT WITHOUT REPROCUSSION!. STOP TRYING TO ONE UP EVERYONE PEOPLE! this bill has nothing to do with prop 215 patients. they are still protected.

wrong about that, actually the people that created this bill are not compassionate and are just tryin to make a buck off us. Richard lee founder of oaksterdam created this bill. A dispensary that I frequent carry oaksterdam clones. The moment this bill popped up my dispensary stopped carrying oaksterdam clones, because they said that oaksterdam would no longer be supplying them clones any longer. This tells me that Richard lee doesn't want us growing his strains just buying its flowers from him. Now is that compassion or what? Now you say that this bill will not effect patients well ima patient, where do I get my clones from now. You see this bill hasn't even passed yet and already effected. Just one example.
thats fine. someones going to have to make profit from it anyways. like i said its like farming produce. if a mom and pop shop want to compete and if they have the means/funds then by all means thats a competitive market. the reason its so hyped up because its going to be a BRAND NEW market for america. no one knows really how its gonna turn out till it happens.

I'm voting yes. Honestly, I could care less about prices rising or falling, taxation, grow spaces, big business, quality or any of this other bullshit. As long as Prop 19 allows me to grow my own for personal consumption, there is no need to worry about the business side of it. I'll get all my top quality bud for free. Any anyone else who is bitching about how everything is going to get worse, use that 5x5 space, grow your weed and be happy for what you have. Prop 19 may move us forward, or it may keep things neutral, but it sure as hell won't make things worse than prohibition already is.

This bill directly goes against federal law while marijuana being legal medically doesn't. If this bill gets passed just watch the DEA come in full force. I bet they already have their fingers on their triggers(not literally). If this bill is passed it will force the federal government to take action. Just wait.
