Same thing applies. The bubbles will only add d.o. at the molecular level. Though oxygen will dissolve from them, it's insignificant. The benefit comes from the breaking of bubbles at the surface, causing agitation. All this is water temp dependent of course.Ya but what about being in a sealed room with c02 supplementation. A waterfall or fluming device obviously isn't the best choice, IMO. Churning up whatever air into the water with 1000+ ppm of c02 at the same time. With air lines, you at least can pump in fresh air from another room, or even hook up pure a oxygen tank/breathing machine
pics or it didnt happenSearching through the forums and there were plenty of people on here that suggested a wave maker over an air pump.. well one Amazon order later and a Wave Maker in my DWC bucket resulted in this dumb product catching my roots and ripping some out. I am glad it just happened to one bucket but that probably set me back - painful for a first time/noob grower.
I'm sticking with my damn air pump, actually I am going to go buy a bigger, commercial one (what I should've done in the first place).
As someone who owns a saltwater reef tank and utilizes multiple wavemakers, I would definately advise against putting one in a dwc bucket. Wavemakers not only move water, they also suck up water thru the backside, which can very easily suck up roots. I doubt that wrapping it on nylon will do anything more than stress and burn up a wavemaker. You essentially created a blender. Now, if utilized in a resivoir it could be beneficial as a decent wavemaker can move a ton of water and if used on a pulse/wave mode it would do an excellent job of lifting nutes from the bottom of a container and keeping them suspended in the water column.Searching through the forums and there were plenty of people on here that suggested a wave maker over an air pump.. well one Amazon order later and a Wave Maker in my DWC bucket resulted in this dumb product catching my roots and ripping some out. If I'm understanding your comment, you're looking for a pump that will recirculate a very minimal amount of water? If so look into Tom aqua lifter.do those air pumps also recirculate the water or just pump air into the water?
if you have a cordless drill get a paint stirring attachment. Turns my 32gal trash can into a vortex. I just hit it a few times to mix anything solid/difficult to dissolve.Off topic, but could you use one to mix harder to dissolve fertilizers like calcium nitrate?
I had a setup like that at my old place that burned down, I just haven’t got around to replacing all my tools yet and a wave makers which I just learned are a thing are like $20 lol hence my curiosityif you have a cordless drill get a paint stirring attachment. I've used a small water pump in the tank before to keep it circulated but my current mix needs to be aerated not stirred.

You think the cheapest one is better than something that'd come with a DWC system? Like activeaqua for example.Air pumps here ....

Can't say without knowing the specs of the other pump . The cheapest I linked to pumps 10 liters of air per minute . Head pressure makes a difference also if the pump sits on the floor or some distance away from the bucket or reservoir .You think the cheapest one is better than something that'd come with a DWC system? if you want whisper quiet, then you need a good and expensive aquarium pump (linear vs diaphragm)You think the cheapest one is better than something that'd come with a DWC system? Like activeaqua for example.
