Do you check bud trichomes or leaf trichomes

Once all the pistols have folded over and browned up then start carefully checking trichomes and as soon as you see cloudy trichome heads for the most part she's ready to be chopped. You will definitely see some amber trichomes in places but mostly cloudy.
Cool. Thank you. Those darn amber ones on the sugar leafs throw me off.

Check the ones on the bud not the leafs. Good indication is the pistols
I still have some white pistols so I will let it go longer. I will post more photos in a few days. Do you think it’s still too early to pinch a little off and Vape it. I know the flavor and harshness will be wrong but will it give a good indication of what the finished high will be like. I have a convection style vape like the volcano so figured the hot air going around it would dry it out.

Next grow I’m aiming for green as long as possible. It makes sense. When you see large scale commercial grows the plants don’t turn yellow as bad.
Big scale comercial grow up aren't about the perfect ripe. Its all about timing yield and cashout.. It like comparing a mcdonald cheese burger to a gordon ramnsay cheeseburger... The yellowing is a nutrient depletion it equals a flushout...... To completely answer you question about the trichome... You have to start checking your trichome very often has it starts. Nit just toward the end... The life cycle of thricome and its stage. Goes from. The formation of a needle. Then the tip gets rounded has it gets rounded tips all over the plant during thichome. Thc slowly increase some strain will have thrichomes changing to a milky color and becoming more opaque.. Some strain are les pronouce. When an overal of % of the trichome become a milky colore a certain amount start slowly become amber.. When that amber is showing. This it the highest thc peak. That is when you want your nutrient to be depleted. Leaf yellowing and changing colors these are manly nutrient deficites which are a good sign during harvest if trichomes meets requierment.. If trichome aren't ready then it is a bad sign. Since your plant has used its sugar leaf and can no longer support rippen and then caus a thc peak stop... Is leaf are still green while the thc is at its peak. The trichome starts becoming more and mor amber in color causing a thc to slowly drop and getting a slow CBN peak insread. Not a bad thing for certain grower that prefers the high. But pass that point. Over rippen will have trichome colapse and fall off the plant slowly.. And that you dont want... When drying and curing. You will have to pay attention a little more if your deplition of nut wernt in par with you harvest times. But would be to worried.

I just thought of something. Is it possible I’m giving too much light? I’m using those cheap Chinese viparspectra lights. They say 600 watts but I know that’s not true. I’m using two of them and rotating the plant. I added the second light about 15 days ago. See picture. Sorry about the color but I didn’t want to turn them off. They are about 15” above the highest part of the plant. Just a thought. I’m sure that’s not the only culprit but it may be exacerbating my other issues.
Too much light will give you a bleached bud on top.. No bleached bud. = no cause for alarm. The more light you can give your plants without damaging cytoplasme, the more energy stored it will have at night for flowering

Thanks and what you’re saying makes sense. Is extra light good in flowering as well. I only ask because I’m running both of those Chinese lights on veg and bloom. The light seemed way to dim and pure red with just bloom. No intensity if that makes sense. I was wondering if running both on flower and turn veg off would’ve been better. I doubt it though. Almost every grow diary and review of people using these same lights said they left the veg on during bloom. I’m a beginner and made the mistake of buying two crappy lights instead of one good one.

Very informative. Thank you. I just realized how much of the plants lifecycle I missed. I will be more observant and probably learn to be more in tune; if that makes sense. Here’s some pictures as of this post. I took these within an hour of this post. Do you think I have enough sugar leafs left to turn into energy? B195CBC4-9A47-4608-8575-FB05CDD4B552.jpeg

I would leave the vedge on. Lighting is i little complicated to understand but not so much if you read on it a little every day... Basicaly the rules is an optimal set up for vedging should have close to a double that intesity for flowering... It's all maths, trial and error... To fully understand you set up and optimaize it. You need a tool to calculate the intensity and lux. So technicaly you are trying to get the maximum output of the light as possible with the maximum range of colors light spectrum that are realated to the intake of chlorophylle a and b.. Led are usuallu it the right specrum bur are not as powerful in penetrating the canopy and are less hot. So its possible to find a sweet spot for your set up.. So if you use a light half its power and you met the optimal growth for vedging. Then you can either train ( top/prune, defoiliate) to get your plant ready for flowering with optimal) then used maximum intesity full on or by increasing power... Light intesity dosent have to be max on flowering week one. But it should be doubled on last weeks.... 1 gram/watt plus the ( yield/m2 in 1 feet thick of canopy should give you a basic idea. Of how much u could wield. Anywhere below could be inprive anywhere above is onward to the right track.

Thanks again!! Excellent, well written and understandable explanation. I’ve much to learn! Patience is an apparent ingredient key ingredient to success. I love learning and applying. Experimenting but trying not cross the line that leads me here for questions. Lol. Can you tell from my pictures if my plant looks healthy enough to live another week or two?

You have plenty of sugar leaf. Sugar leaf

Your sugar leaf are the single leaf that sticks out of the bud. At this point you have plenty energie remaining for the flower to finish its cycle has the solar panel leaf slowly get depleted from nutrients. If you grow in organic soil, it doing great has its us very close to finish. All the energi is thrown toward that last push of growth. Has you flushout keep and eyes on trichomes so they don't collapse on themself and start faling. When 2/3 of thrichomes overall seems to avec became mire milky. And a anywere from 10-30% amber its harvest times. I, d read more on that diffrence in milky to amber ratio tu understand the highs. But i would go to amber has it lowers thc % in the process. And the sugar leave will be trimed acording to your drying and curing methodes. Either way you chose if done writes should be great.

It should last till you harvest. If you sees the leaf inside the buds starting to change colors from the tip. Then you are pretty much depleted from energy and sugar. Nutrient are almost all out if that plant. And are left with the buds to trim dry and cure.. There is no actual time to harvest. Peopke do it early or to late... As long has you've got fan leaf dying green bud and trichome allover, you are doing okay... When buds start yellowing bleaching or browning you have a probleme. When its the rest its part of the process.. Has an hkrticultur graduate. I can tell you.. When older leaf dies it does it to give its energue to the new growth.. So your plant is giving all its got left for that final push..

Pistils aren't a great indicator. Certain strain stay whites and sligtly writher. While other strain goes from white to pink to orange a light red. A white pistil in only indicator of a fertile seed pod waiting to be fertilized.. There will always be newer and newer the ferther you get from the light source once flowering is in cycle... Some peopke go with pistil developement but rarely achieve optimal result... Always go with thricomes. For better result

Most here advise against marijuana for anxiety disorders, if your a heavy smoker just stopping alltogether is what i recomend.

Ive know a lot of peeps with bad disorders and some are dead because weed made it worse :-)
This is why I cant eat edibles. Brings on a panic attack from hell for hours.
I'm better with smoking it, but even some strains will give me massive anxiety. The one I do best with is humboldts blue dream. That makes me feel so blissful and relaxed even if I smoke tons of it.

Luckily there is an inner me and together we manage to talk most fear anxieties and social phobias through. Strong weed is not good for anyone imo :-)

It works wonders for me at night when I vape. Im not home bound or anything like that. I liken weed to alcohol in the sense of knowing your limit and not over indulging. When my anxiety was out of control (years ago before therapy), I most certainly wasn’t using weed in any form.
