Do you prefer quantum boards or strips?

Millennials these days I tell ya, youtubing is their version of going to the library to do research. FFS, at least download some spec sheets and compare numbers yourself! Shane from Migro has been wrong a few times. He's a YouTube dude, not some Golden LED God.

Yea I always expect the insults to start by page 2. I just want to know opinions on boards vs strips, I really dont care if someone has a more expensive light than me or if they yield more.

well truth be told, there prob isnt enough of a difference between the 2 in quality or efficiency to matter at all. its more about personal preference and growing style.

best of luck choosing.

its pretty simple. if you have the ceiling height u go with boards and mount them 3-4ft away, if u dont..... u go with the strips and mount them 1-2ft from canopy.

strips are pricier than boards in general or else strips all the way

Yea the difference seems pretty minimal which is why its hard to convince myself to spend the cash on something i dont need. New lights are always fun though.

Thanks for the input. Do people really hang their boards 3-4 feet above the canopy in small grows? I can understand in a commercial setup with hundreds of lights that may be necessary but I keep my boards around 24 inches.

My first time with boards was good at 20-24"

Loving on the spider type leds, I really lucked out on my light. Penetration is awesome, 4x4 and hard nugs full tent, deep coverage too, qbs aim light straight down, might be wrong, but strips cover right through canopy, even corners are great, I was hps se grower, never again. As long as correct wattage per square ft is used, either is good. I can adjust bars on my light so when starting out I can focus light where I want it. They all have their place in the growroom.

What light are you using?

Thats pretty incredible you can get them that close. I dont have height issues but that is impressive.
I ran out of height in my room during my last run and had quite a few coals grow straight into my strip lights a few times. I’d go to check on the plants and they’d be touching the LEDs with zero signs of burn.
