the price is going up!! its not gonna go down either...canna clubs are drivin it way up!! on the lb level at least.

At his proposed $15-20 a gram, $15 a gram is $420 an ounce, and 6720 a pound. So $5500 would still be a "discount" when compared to buying per gram or ounce. And he did basically say "screw what others think" RE: his prices.
In my area Mexi brick is $60 oz., Chronic (which has become mid, if you're lucky, the last few years) is $300 oz., and anything that is truly good is $400-500 an oz. or more! I refuse to pay for Chronic anymore, because the quality has gone to hell and there's absolutely no reason to pay five times as much as brick for mids! There's no way I can afford to buy good bud, be it on the streets or at the MMJ clubs. I've been stuck with Mexi brick for 4.5 years now, for management of severe chronic pain!
So, I decided to grow my own and have no more reason to complain about the prices. By about the end of October I'll never again have to pay for pot, will save lots of moolah that can go toward the house/bills instead, and will have top quality RE: not only any high I may want but more importantly much more pain relief than what the Mexi brick can provide.... or Chronic, for that matter. Especially since you're stuck with the highest price range if you want indica dominant, which is what is most effective for severe pain as well as insomnia; and the sativas that you can buy (for daytime pain management) don't do much of anything for pain. (I haven't had indica in 4.5 years!)Home grown is the way to go, whether it's for chronic illness or "just" enjoyment. Anyone who thinks they can drive the prices down is living in a fantasy world. The only way we can even begin to make the dealers consider bringing down the prices is to stop buying pot, period. That means either going without, or growing our own. The former isn't possible for me, and the latter is something I vastly enjoy doing. So it's an easy choice for me.
Or even Jehovah.
Actually, the clubs charge a tad less than street dealers in my area. And the quality is always superior to street purchases. Considering the clubs have a lot more overhead than a dealer working from home does, they're not making any more profit than street dealers; possibly a bit less when factoring in the business overhead.
However, I do believe that if the clubs brought down the prices, they'd be setting a precedent for the street dealers to have to follow if they want to keep their business flow. OK, a second way to make dealers consider lowering their prices. But how do we get the clubs to lower theirs? By not buying it from them; which goes back to going without or growing our own! Catch-22, anyone?

yes unfortunately. it's quite crazy that cannabis is actually worth more than gold. whether you measure it by the ounce or gram or whatever...
right now, zips of top quality strains in an area i know are going for $400-500.

BIG FAT OUCH on these prices how do you pay for pot and pay for food and pay for pills pay for shelter? What the FUCK !! Where is the Compassion here? Then you have the Laws fighting eachother damn I feel for you dog..But I'm more pissed at the clubs I expect asshole dealer to be slimmy .Hopfully you find a good one and you stick with him and he doesn't act like God ever..lol.. screw them all. i stopped buying weed and started growing my own. i grow outdoors and get good seed stock from my friends. i grow only female plants. next year i am going to splurge 100$ on XXX skunk outdoor sativa seeds from a trusted seed bank. My costs are a few bags of peat moss and potting soil and a few bottles of mollases and some Peter's pro fertilizer for flowering plants. less than a hundred dollars worth of supplies gets me enough smoke to last me until next years crop comes in. (And i tend to party every day when i have it, usually right after i get off work). I get surprisingly nice, sweet banana buds from it. my friends ask me to sell them some, but I'm not into doing time in a Florida prison for trafficking. grow as much as you safely can, tell no one where it comes from and if you have the space, spread your plants out over your property and guerilla garden. And YES, the prices are insane. were i to actually sell my pot, i could sell it at 10 bucks an ounce and still make back TRIPLE what i spent on the costs of growing it

if you are looking to grow pot, move to florida, i have ten acres, if we share the workload, we share the weed... sound fair? i have not had indica in like 2o years. it cost me 75 bucks for a 1/2 z and all it did was give me couchlock..... sitting around and mumbling incoherently. i prefer a nice cerbral sativa, one that makes me understand Deniss Miller's jokes..

Well, I've only bought Mexi brick for the last 4.5 years (only had top notch pot all my life before that, but once I started needing it more than once a day, quality went out the window).... then my bills get paid. And my bank account has been overdrawn a few times because SSI income just doesn't cover living expenses, much less medication on top of that. I can't remember the last time I got something for myself just because I'd like to have it.... every penny is about literally keeping a roof over my head and my body medicated.

My "connection" for the last two years has never done me wrong. I lucked out there.
All I know is that I got really tired of having to donate yet another vital organ in order to have medication for pain, be it pills or pot. Much of what growing entails is very difficult for me, and I frequently need help from others (such as grow space set up, etc.) in order to be able to do it at all. I'm often useless the rest of the day after doing maintanence on my plants, and on those days it's easy to entertain the idea of throwing in the towel. But I just can't afford to keep paying for it, even the brick. And I love gardening, and the satisfaction I have knowing that I did that! That's what keeps me going.

I look at reasons not to move to an area before reasons why I should move to an area..... can't think of any reason why you wouldn't want to be round this "neighborhood" (can't event throw a rock and hit my neighbors house let alone see it). For real..... I live in a paradise on earth....Just about any neighborhood is better than my current one!
