Frankly i think the idea of requiring elected and appointed public servants to be drug-tested - publicly - is a brilliant one. It recouples policymakers to policy. cn
Not necessarily. Farming is one of the most highly subsidized professions and CEO's can squirrel away their income into creative tax exempt, and tax deferred, products and investments.Because the farmers and CEOs contribute... They positively impact the economy.
Funny I know people on welfare. And when I mention McDonalds is hiring or something like that they always scoff at me. "I make more on welfare" is a common response. Or "I'm not going to flip burgers or clean up other peoples shit" is another. If we stopped babying these people they'd get their lazy asses out there and work.
If you are addressing me, yes, i'm positive. They just passed some kind of "reform" and the biggest gripe is that it did not address the abuse of the cash balance, it just made it so people can't swipe the card at a register to buy beer or ciggs (that used to be perfectly legal.)Corso312:7638429 said:In Illinois...you can not get any cash...just food n beverage..are you sure about this?
It's not the governments job to feed you. Or clothe you. Or provide you with healthcare.
Let me guess those engineers are above working at a gas station or being a janitor? Couple months ago I went looking for a job and put out over 20 resumes. I got about 8 calls that were decent jobs that other people were just not willing to work.
Wait, these people can't afford $34 in order to make thousands for doing nothing? And they are drug users? And you think they are going to be able to eventually get a job? Why are you opposed to them just going to rehab?
Well it's my opinion we shouldn't be paying these people anything. Can't feed yourself? Make room for someone who can.
What would help is no more Soda..candy and junk food for on stamps.
i worked the register at a supermarket in the late 90s and people would pay with WIC. WIC rules are that you can only buy certain types of cereals, juices, formula, etc. you wouldn't believe the fit some people pitched when i told them they couldn't get a certain type of cereal with the WIC check. That is certainly wrong.... and needs to be addressed... I do not even think soda and candy and garbage food making this country even fatter should be allowed.
If you are on welfare you are having an economic crisis right? If you are having an economic crisis you should cut back on spending right? To cut back on spending you get rid of luxuries right? Are drugs luxuries? Are they expensive luxuries? Are they habit forming luxuries?
