The move went well and I like it here even though its small.

I didnt really get to do an outdoor this year because of the move, and I put my indoor girls out there way laye and will see if they can make it to term or not lol.

My indoor is coming along well, and I have popped some seeds since my genetice list is all but gone from the move as well.

I have always like the Mastiff. Big dog that is mellow and just sturdy ready if need be, but more of a chill dog.

Yes for sure. Very good your new home is going well. All that matters is that everyone's safe an happy.

Aren't they Jig? My daughter sent me the link through facebook messenger and kept bleeping me until I looked at it. As soon as I saw them I knew that one of these was the dog we've been looking for, and without any coaxing everyone else agreed, so we called the people and spoke to them on speakerphone. Really nice sounding people. He says mom and dad are gentle giants, as they should be, but your right bass, they're there when needed. Anyway, we're bringing coffee's in the morning when we go pick one out. You know I'll be taking my camera there! Speaking of. Windows 8 is not being friendly with my motherboard software, not my Canon software, so guess who's wiping 8 out and reinstalling 7? That's right..this guy. Glad I paid the extra $15 for them to send me a hard copy for when they get their shit together. The more things change, the more they stay the same, for Microsoft.

I had so much trouble in the beginning with Win 7..maybe since I got the 64 bit Ultimate edition.
No programs were compatible even in Xp mode or whatever 32 bit crap they had. I have no problems now though..
What are the selling points with 8? Supposed to be good for Facebook and other things is what I heard. I really havent looked into it yet.

Thanks cof, and you're right, he is a lucky pup. He's going to have two women taking care of his every need.

Windows 8 is just and extension of their Tablet OS I think. Never used one so can't say for sure, but basically your Start button/menu is now a Start Console type of thing and you access everything from there, including your Desktop. Once you're there it's similar to W7 but still, it's quite different. I do seem to like it for the most part and look forward to coming back to it, but for now it has to go back and wait. It does have some apps, like Netflix but here's the thing. You'll notice that almost everything is tied into your hotmail/Microsoft account, even more than ever it seems, and it sort of forces you to have/get an account to utilize a lot of the features AND, utilize the third party apps. Me? I have a hotmail account but I hate it. Hotmail is for my junk stuff.

I like Yahoo messenger for mail and the others not so much.

Thanx for the run-down on it.

Ok, here we go. Got a little challenge, of sorts. I have my bong loaded and my W7 disc ready. When I leave I'm going to hit this bong, format my SSD, install Windows 7, followed by my ASUS Motherboard drivers and utilites, and my graphic cards, and finally my Canon utilities and some free virus protection and I'll be back with a picture to post. It's all being done from CD/DVD with the only download being the AVG so it'll be a good test for this system. Ready, set.........GO!

Is the test to see if you can still do the install after the bong-load lol?

Doobie, I'm so looking forward to laying down some tracks and sharing them with you guys to mess around with. I'm probably also going to be hitting you up for tips on stuff here. I'm a little green with this stuff still and have lots to learn. I gotta tell ya though, this Squire is really nice to play. Probably the best bass I've owned. Real nice action with that nice thin Jazz bass neck which has a thin satin finish so those sweaty thumbs don't get jammed up on those slides. I don't know how many coffees have gone cold playing her.
Well. In the morning, I'm going to see a man about a dog. Bull Mastiff X French Mastiff to be precise. They will be ready to come home Nov 24th. The day I get back from my trip. I have 5 males to pick from. I'm pretty certain I'll be putting some money down on one of these.

I'm looking forward to hearing some stuff coming out of you & your new bass :-)
My fore arm & finger muscles weakened while I layed off playing for a month, but am back on track and building up strength, endurance, and renewing my callouses.
My left hand ring finger is still healing from the tendon rupture, but now I think it's ready to slowly re-incorporate it back into my playing.
I've decided that my next video bass cover will be "New World Man" from Rush's "Signals" album.

Will be recording it this coming week (I hope) and posting it as soon as it's finished.

How have your fingers & hand muscles been doing since you started playing again?

Cute little puppies, too!
Will be neat to see pics of the little guy as he grows into a giant guy :-)

Haha, that too! Nevermind, I'm asking for a 5 minute credit as I started loading it from the existing OS rather than booting from the DVD drive and it was a fair way into grabbing the set up files when I cancelled and started over again. Also, I added the utilities for the Blue Ray and the keyboard. Can't find the mouse disk. So an hour and a half for pretty much everything and Device Manager's clean.

Doobie, I've had a hundred songs go through my head for what to do first. As soon as I think of a new one, I've forgotten the last. I haven't gotten a chance to sit for long but they are pretty sore at times and they are building gradually. I get some cramping in the hands but that's the arthritis. I do think it helps to play though. This may sound wierd, but I find that I can practice mentally, without a guitar in my hand. At times it includes physical gestures that one might think is air guitar, butit's a little more real and accurate then that, and I think it's helped because it just seems to be easing back so well, and even better than before it seems, sometimes. I want to put together a dozen or so standards and put myself out there in the classifieds and such, see if I can hook up with some like minded guys.

Anyway, have to go fetch some Adobe Flash so I can watch that vid you posted. Time for the tweaking.

Pretty good time, duchie :-)
Those SSD's really speed up the whole install process (as well as the usage of the computer).

Nice pic, too.
That new camera is a super sweet one!
Been reading the review over at dpreview.com.

If I am able to get myself into a DSLR next year, I'm going to have to do some hard comparisons before plunking my money down.
I do like Nikon's menu system ,and it's features & build quality, but I also know that Canon's are their equals, or better sometimes, even if it's a hundred bucks more (at the price level I'll be buying at).
But, the one thing that will stop that from happening is if we're able to move into a ground floor apartment here where we currently live.
We put word in with the landlord that we want to move to a downstairs apartment so my wife's knees will quit getting worse (various knee surgeries).
If we get a lower unit, I'm going to get a Roland electronic drum kit, probably the TD-11K (either the "K-S" version) :

(or the "K-V" version)

But that's NEXT year ;-)

Oh man those one's are nice. I was thinking of grabbing a cheaper set, around the $500 range but decided not when it came down to it. Would love to have a set myself but just not practical right now, partly for the same reason, that I'm above someone else. Not that the fecker down there doesn't deserve a good pounding over the head. He avoids me like the plauge. Still haven't talked to him since the night around the fire with the BB gun incedent. And we still have the damn gun too! haha.

So now I'm having some audio issues. My USB interface I think.

I've found that to be true for me, too.
When I'm not playing my bass, I'm often mentally playing songs, moving my plucking fingers as if I were playing, and approximating the left hand fingering while going about my day-to-day.
And it always seems to help me play stuff I wasn't able to before any hiatus I go through.
Amazing what our brains & bodies are capable of.

I'd love to get out and find some locals to play with, too.
When my back is strong enough for hauling my amp around, definitely going to look into it.
But no way I can lug an 80-lb combo amp up & down the stairs, to & from the car at the rehearsal site, twice a week or more.
Well, I could a few times, but then I'd be looking like Quasimodo.
Another reason why we want a ground floor apartment.
At least I'd be able to dolly my amp out to the car easily.
If we can't get into a lower unit, I'm going to get the Roland SPD-30 Octapad instead, to tide me over for a while.

Oh, regarding fingers & arthritis, have you tried adding flax seed oil capsules to your daily diet (one capsule a day, during a meal)?
I've been using them for a little bit, and it does seem to be doing some good for my hands & shoulder, and my back doesn't get to hurting for quite as long.
Have only been taking them for a little while, too.

I've heard great things about flaxseed. Learning that it's just as important to feed our micros too and I'd like to look into a couple of herbal supplements to help along. Mostly I'd like to do it through diet though.

Well, I'm beat so I'm off to bed. Good night Doobie and I'll catch ya's in the morning when I'll post some more of these pics I have, now that I can get them.

Fish oil is not only good for joints, but all sorts of other stuff. I take it along with a multi vitamin. I feel as though i can tell a diffrerence since starting it in my knees.
