Haha i feel it everyone has their own slang. In my big set up i get multiple zips per plant but with auto flowers theyre kinda like an egg timer. Once you germ it the clock starts ticking and you have a limited amount of days of veg before flower. Most strains only have about 2 weeks of veg if that before they start flowering/stretching. Kind of like a 12/12 from seed grow.
Auto flowers are real root bitches. Meaning the bigger the pot the bigger the yield, the smaller the pot the smaller the yield. My pot was between 1 and 2 gallons. If i had a 5 gallon bucket id probably get closer to 2 zips off it.
The real nice thing about autos though is the lack of skill and equipment for a perpetual harvest, which is as soon as you harvest a set of plants more are going right into flower.
With autos you can grow 2 or 3 of them at first, let them go for a month, then start 2 or 3 more, let those go for a month, by now the first ones you started are just about done flowering, start some more autos a week or so before that harvest and boom. Once a month so its not even every 75 days.
Normally, you need a veg tent, a mother tent, a clone box, and a flower box multiple lights/timers/pots for transplanting.
But with autos you can just have 1 tent/box with 1 light set to 1 time period. Only need to be put in 1 pot size their whole life.
The only real down sides to them is inability to clone, flavor/potency and yield only because its controlled by time, the yield isnt bad on autos at all, but its completely up to the plant and amount of light you have how much it grows.
And flavor/potency has really gotten better over the past few years because autos are crosses between hemp (ruderalis) and usually an indica or indica dominant hybrid then bred enough to make them consistently auto flower. Im not sure how much that is but now a days they have enough standard autos that they can just cross different autos with different autos so they can make f1s and f2s of things easier without having to work out auto flowering traits. They wont set any records for most thc but they will have a good amount and get you where you need to be.
Inability to be cloned can be fixed by buying more seeds or the better way of making your own S1 seeds. Where you start one FEM auto first by itself, spray it with colloidal silver to make it revert to male and make pollen, then you let it grow to maturity and harvest the pollen.
Then either grow out another single plant and hit it by itself with the pollen (which id recommend) or you can grow a whole set of plants and try to paint brush some onto some of the buds. This is hard and youre almost guaranteed to pollinate most if not all of the plant in the garden. One plant can give you at least 100 seeds if fully pollinated and the male pollen can be stored for a while to hit any more mothers. I wouldnt pollinate the prodigy of the original male because of bad inbred traits so id keep a hand full of original seeds from the breeder around to run a single plant to pollinate every year or so to reup on your seed stash.
Sorry for the in depth ramble. Thats my knowledge of autos up to this point.
