The Metacycle looks pretty badass, assuming you are staying on pavement.

It’s garbage in terms of being an electric motorcycle. I was reading someone’s reviews, 40 miles range at 50mph on moderate terrain…fucking laughable

That make sense, mines not much larger than the cassette. Controller is under the seat. We just rolled over 600km (370 miles)

You have a geared hub motor, with 3 planetary gears circling a center driving gear.

@manfredo has a direct drive hub motor. No moving parts. Less low end torque, much better efficiency at higher speeds.

So different motor types all together, that’s why the diameter of your geared hub is smaller.

That's the biggest problem with electric motorcycles in general, the limited range.
SurRon, Taleria Sting, and Onyx RCR are the “big boy” bikes out there right now. The Taleria is newer, so not as many of them, but Onyx and SurRon are the top tier of that world. Though neither can hardly be considered bikes.

…my friend modded his SurRon and got it up to 77mph, with more on the throttle he coulda given it.
Don't forget about the Zero. It's more road than dirt oriented though.

We may need a second bike. My partner is talking about commuting to work on it. :cuss:

I've already saved a ton on parking and tickets. I think the next one will be smaller and less expensive since my trips are only a couple kilometers at a time.
Maybe get an e-scooter.

Looks like there's another new electric motorcycle on the market from CSC, the same guys who brought cheap Chinese dual sport and adventure bikes to the market. It's supposed to have a 112-mi range, and top speed of 80mph. The 0-60 time of 9 seconds isn't super quick though.
