Oracle of Hallucinogens
Briefing:
First and foremost, I am very experienced and familiar with salvia. I have used it on many occasions, and with many set and settings. For this occasion I made a very conscious effort to create a perfect set and setting.
When it comes to the effects, I find that my body's reaction to salvia is not a very common reaction. As I am made aware, many people have very short reactions with salvia, this is not the case when I use it. I have experienced salvia trips of up to an hour and including coming down effects, significantly longer. Due to many uses, and salvia's reverse-tolerant effects, it does not take a high dosage to have pronounced effects.
Report:
So last night I took a quick walk with two friends of mine (two of us were a bit blazed), which we decided to cut short due to it being a little nippy out. Realizing I had a bowl and a bag of salvia on me, we filled it to the brim (Standardized 10x if anyone cares to know). The first hit was taken by my friend, the other declined, and I was left to finish the whole bowl (which consisted of somewhere around 10 large hits or so).
Generally speaking I am not a fan of salvia (my many uses were to attempt to figure out why this is, and to see any mental benefits that could be gained from its use). The effects started to kick in briefly after finishing the bowl. It started off with an eerie feeling (as it always does for me) and I thought I was about to trip some major sack. When I noticed this, I started to control my breathing (taking and counting large breaths) which allowed my body and mind to relax completely. Generally speaking I am nearly 100% functional during a salvia trip (I would imagine due to resisting the experience engulfing me), this time I did not resist.. I simply allowed the trip to fully take over my mind and did not have any intentions of fighting it.
Enlightenment:
Due to salvia always producing an eerie effect, I was never comfortable with it. I never liked the effects that it produced on my body nor my mind, so I resisted the entirety of the salvia's effects. It almost became that due to "bad trips", or more intense experiences, that is almost produced a fearful feeling (as to the uncertainty and distaste for the effects). I was able to have insight into this and allow the feeling to quell and have the most amazing salvia trip I have ever had. It was only ever so slightly visual, but offered extremely deep mental insight.
Advice:
For the many people who do not like salvia or to those who say it does not offer any benefits.
Try this out:
I obviously can not say what your trip will be like, but assuming you can relax and accept the trip, the idea of a "bad trip" fades and is replaced with comfort.

For the many people who do not like salvia or to those who say it does not offer any benefits.
Try this out:
- Be in a comfortable mindset (Unless you are aiming for insight with a bad trip)
- Be in a comfortable setting (Somewhere that relaxes you, I like outside)
- Relax before the salvia experience (Meditate, or clear your mind briefly)
- Once you ingest the salvia, not only allow it to take you entirely, accept where it takes you.
- Once you accept the experience, you lose discomfort and fear, it produces an very nice effect to mental insight and an overall feeling of well being.
I obviously can not say what your trip will be like, but assuming you can relax and accept the trip, the idea of a "bad trip" fades and is replaced with comfort.
