I wish I was surprised…but since the “libertarian” tax-revolt of the 80s-90s grew directly from the confederate-state rejection of school desegregation at taxpayer expense in the 50s.

Only 14% of budgets come from the feds. The money part is not the main target. We need to remember why congress created it in the first place. It is a civil rights department. States were not educating black, brown, poor or special needs kids. Once it's gone, the states can do what they want.
