keenly, if i'm eating at mcdonalds in the first place i don't expect a 'higher quality of food'. what an oxymoron

apparently there are a few people who think they are above being nice to people

im sure you wouldnt treat your doctor like you treat you local fast food worker

were both just doing our jobs trying to pay the bills but some how its ok to be a dick to the fast food guy

Yo man, I never said YOU actually did it, I was just referencing your comment is all. Relax.

The more you post the more it seems like your superiors are a bunch of assholes. Your manager obviously has OCD or something, because it sounds like he really doesn't need to get on your ass for some of the shit he does. I dunno bro, your never gonna get what your asking for, so you might as well suck it up and deal. It sucks, I know, but you control your destiny. Don't like it, send out apps and wait for a call.

All I can picture reading this whole thread is Brad working the burger joint in Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

"Sir if you don't relax I'm gonna kick 100% of your ass!" LOL

I waited on that guy (Judge Reinholdt) at a place I used to work.

He was a total douche and complained about every single thing. Insisted on having a bottled water, so we had to send someone to the 7-11 down the street to get him one. Then he bitched because it took us 5 minutes to get him his water (I told him we didn't have any bottled water on the premises and had to send someone out for some, he didn't care, he was such a dickface)

Then he bitched about the fries being, well, FRIED.

I can't laugh at that scene of the movie anymore.

we would if the Dr. sent us away with a colonopscopy when we ordered a flu shot 4 out of 10 times.

i'm a chef...

i've opened my own restaurant, and ran the kitchen in a few others..

i started out at pizza hut when i was 16 as a first job.. but it wasnt long before i worked at a private golf course...

as someone who knows the food industry inside and out i think its funny you have "rules" for fast food... fast food is the EASIEST of all the food related jobs there is..

minimal prep... everything comes frozen and preportioned... there is VERY little deviation that can be made by customers... maybe "no tomatoes" here or "extra onions" there.. other wise it is what it is...

try running a real kitchen that cooks for rich snobs who think their shit dont stink.. who in the middle of a friday night rush will request your presence at their table because they want you to come up with a 1 of a kind meal for them because it's their anniversary or birthday...

or better yet putting together a custom plated meal for 250 or more people all while trying to maintain the orders that are still coming in left and right....

and furthermore it makes me absolutely sick when people fuck with someones food because they are having a bad day... but i guess thats the caliber of people you expect to work at a fast food restaurant, huh??

maybe for you it is a hard job and you need to have rules for people to follow... but if the job is that hard or your that miserable doing it find a new one...

no matter where you go in life you are going to encounter idiots... thats life... deal with it and move on... just because joe smith doesnt know what he wants when he gets up to order doesnt mean that he should have to eat your spit...

ramsay is one of the coolest chefs in the world..

he is really nothing like he is in the kitchen on a day to day basis... he's super laid back.. really friendly... self proclaimed "momma's boy"...

i wish i could meet him.. i have thought about trying to get on hell's kitchen myself.. i think i would do well...

but... when he is in the kitchen.. and he works with idiots like some of the people on hell's kitchen are... he does blow up.. and its a lot worse than you see on tv... nothing says pissed like a sauce pan flying at you from across the kitchen

thats his attitude tho... as far as the food is concerned.. you either like it or you dont.. and if you dont, fuck off... lol

he's what i consider a "real" chef... he cooks for the love of food.. and what tastes good to him.. the fame doesnt mean shit... some chefs, like rocco dispirito (i think thats spelled right) cook for fame.. they want the glory of being a famous chef (which isnt really that glorious unless you are a fellow chef or really like food)...

yeah...

old school chefs are like that... it started with french chefs... they were the original assholes... and it trickled down from there..

the thing is.. we demand perfection.. as a patron to a restaurant, if you were spending $50.00 or more a meal you would want everything to be perfect.. you would want it to be exactly like you imagined and more...

as a chef thats our job to make happen... we push our employees to make everything exactly as we want it everytime they make it.. and the more the patrons know you the worse it gets...

and then you get your own restaurant.. with your name on it.. there's no hiding from that if the food sucks or service is bad.. and once a restaurant has a black mark its almost impossible to keep it running..

i understand that it can be a little much.. or that it seems over the top.. but really.. 80% or more of chefs are like that.. i myself am more laid back.. i dont like to get that worked up.. but i can be and have been just like ramsay before... it can be very frustrating at times.. and even though i may not have personally prepared a meal, if the patron thinks it sucks, its me that looks bad, not the cook that made it...
