from what I have read, some have had success with a 1 min 4 or 5 min off. What about misting, dome foil feeding? Just Ph'd water till they root? For house plants just take a cutting put it in a glass of water and it roots everytime. I go to extra lenghts and never get roots..lol

I didn't mist or use a dome. I think that is only necessary when cloning the traditional way. After I take the cutting I put it underwater and make another diagonal cut. I immediately dip in in rooting gel. I use rooting solution mixed with the water. I didn't check or mess with the pH. I just followed the instructions that came with the clone bucket...bada bing bada boom....roots started to show after a week and were ready to be planted after two weeks. Cloning has been the easiest part of growing for me so far, lots of problems in other areas (PH, Bugs).

well i can report that my buddy tried it after reading marc emery doing it,you make sure the room is sealed and you let the co2 in at 10,000 ppm for 15-min,make sure you DO NOT go in,then you slowly let the co2 out with you not in thier and repeat it 5 days later and your mites will be gone,but do not go in that is enough co2 to kill you..

10,000 ppm? That's seems like enough to kill everything in the room, including the plants! LOL. Did your friend's plants have any reaction to the high dosage of CO2? I haven't really looked into getting CO2, where did your friend get his and do you have an idea of the cost?

he got the co2 from a welder friend,no it did not kill the plants,he actually gave me the canabis culture magazine that gave him the idea.ive also heard of commercial growers doing it in BC.but just google it and get some other input so your comfortable to do it,never take one man advice.

TIP OF THE DAY: LIME WORKS TO RAISE SOIL PH

The flowering plants havent changed much since last week but the plants I topped are going ape-shit. Im really REALLY tempted to stick them in the flower room because they are growing so fast. The weird thing is that the sprouts put off more smell than the flowering plants which is the other motivation (carbon scrubber in flower room). The buds arent filling out like it seems they should, only about the diameter of a quarter. Is that because of the PH problem? The white stuff on the plants is from the spider mite treatment. The lime seems to be working, the run-off was 6.2 the last watering but the plants arent looking any better. This coming weekend Im headed to Vegas for a week so I wont be around to post an update next Tuesday (the start of week 8 but hopefully Ill come home to some plants that are ready for harvest.) :hump:

I just got back in town a few hours ago and have yet to see the plants but from what I hear the spider mites are back with a vengence :wall:

. The bad news combinded with my week long Vegas hangover makes me want to :spew:

. The preditor mites thrive in 40%+humidity but I couldn't keep the cabinet higher than 20%. I blame my unbelievable circulation system (my way of being positive in this terrible situation) . I had buckets of water in the flower room but it just wasn't enough with the 465 CFM fan. If I can get my hands on a CO2 tank I'll definitely give the "CO2 SMOG TECHNIQUE" a try for pest removal next time around. From what I've heard the sprouts have grown almost 6 inches over the last week! I'm wondering if I should top them again? I'll update Tuesday unless there's more drama to post before then.

This aught to give you an idea: Pre party pics, after party pic! The tat is a symbol very close to my heart and my very first tat, probably not my last. It was the absolute best vacation ever. The wedding singer from the movie Old School performed the night we went to the night club LAX, he was hilarlious! We saw the magician Chris Angel, more topless gals than I could throw a stick at, and a lot of details I won't go into :shock:

Welcome back. Glad you enjoyed Vegas. To bad about the mites....little bastards. Damn, I wish I had 20% humidity. I just had to do battle with some mold. Its always something.
The latest discovery I've made in the area of bug defence is Diatomaceous Earth. I'm not sure of its effectiveness against mites, but I figured I'd pass it along anyway.

When I returned from vacation I found my flowering plants bent over almost touching the ground, heavy from the buds. I bought a microscope and took a look at the trichs. The WW was 50/50 so she got chopped. Both PF need another week or so before they will be ready, however the buds on one of the PF are dying so shes getting chopped next. Im not sure what kind of yield I got from each plant but Ill weight it out after it finishes drying. I built a bud dryer, pic below, which is currently drying the WW. Ill probably take cuttings from my other plants this week and then move them into the flower room. I had to treat them with spider mite spray again today because I spotted more mites this morning. CO2 where are you? If anyone has any suggestions of where to pick up a CO2 tank please feel free to share. I wont use preditor mites again due to the fact that I cant get the damn crumbs off of the plants, seen in pics below. Im tempted to try a bug bomb but would like to try something non-poisonous if theres an option that REALLY WORKS.

Thanks IGLAW for the link on Diatomaceous Earth, I'll definitely look into it.

I just chopped up the PF. She weighed just over a QP wet. What should I expect the weight to be after she's all dried up, 2 oz's?

Hey bud...

in my op it seems the saivas dry and cure out @ 1/4 of the original wet weight ...

My Indicas do a little better... but not much...

1/4 seems to be a good rule of thumb.. and I am never disappointed if it comes comes a little heavier... ;-)

From the two plants harvested I ended up with a little less than 2 oz's of dried bud (almost an oz from each plant, WEAK! :cuss:

) and 1 oz of finely ground trimmings. ITS BUTTA MAKING TIME MY FRIENDS! It's simmering as I type. :hump:

I've spent more time researching cures for the disease that has consumed my grow cab. I came across several threads from people who swear by "HOT SHOT BUG STRIPS". It's not a sticky strip but a vapor emission device that you place in the room. Supposedly kills all bugs on contact. Since the new plants, which are still in veg, are now infected I thought I'd give it a try. I WOULD NOT USE THIS ON A FLOWERING PLANT. I'll let you know how it works for me. :peace:

Well, the permafrost is taking it's sweet time finishing. The trichs are still only cloudy, I'm looking for mostly amber but I don't know how much longer I or the plant can hold out. At this point the plant looks like Sh!t and its obvious how infested it is with mites. You can see webs on at least 2 of the buds in the pic below. Should I hold out for amber trichs or chop that Biotch down? How long do the trichs take to transition from cloudy to amber? I hate to say this in fear that I will jinx myself but the Hot shots appear to be killing the mites on my other plants. I took cuttings from them yesterday and noticed that there were A LOT of mites but none of them were moving. Only time will tell but I'll continue to use the Hot Shots until they prove otherwise. All 3 veg plants were topped once again. I expect around 8 top colas on each plant. The 3 veg plants appear to have N lockout. I checked the run-off PH today which was 7.2. Has anyone had experience with both soil and hydro, and is regulating PH in Hydro as much of a hassel as it is for soil? I'm seriously considering hydro as I have had almost every problem a soil grower could experience. WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK????? :peace:

i would wait. jorge cervantez says that if you dry your buds on a wire and then put tangle foot or insect stick glue on the ends of the wire then the mites will leave the drying buds and get caught in the goo. patience is the key to couch lock
