I am very much against hydro. There are advantages to both ways. There are negatives to both ways. I want ORGANIC herb. I do not want my plant to be grown with chemicals. And I certainly don't want to be a slave to the hydro store.
If you ask me you are more likely to have PH problems in hydro. Soil PH is much more stable.
7.2 is not that bad. Not bad enough to lockout N anyway. Something is wrong with those plants though. I dont think its N. remind me what you are feeding with....?
That one is showing some purple. thats usually a Phosphorus Def. but it might just be magnesium. Mg def can show up alot of different ways. You might be right about the lockout too.
Hmmmm.... At Ph above 7 Phosphorus will get locked out 1st. You have what looks like it could be P def (purpleish color). lowering PH in soil is easy. ACV Apple cidar vinegar. I'd start watering with 6.0 maybe high 5's if you think the PH is really too high.
