FLOWERING DAY 13

I don't know why but when I came back I found CH9 Aroma dead and shriveled. Blue Cheese is in good state but somehow Aroma died. I checked the soil moisture levels and they are all normal. I don't know how that happened. Aroma was growing happily. I had problems with Blue Cheese but not with Aroma and at this point I am puzzled . Well at least I have one survivor and you could see flowers forming up. I am sad though.

I didn't wanna do this but I guess I am gonna start Nirvana Chrystal from seed in 12/12 period since I don't have separate vegetation room and second lamp equipment.

nope no coming back. I checked for any sign of hope but all leaves were shriveled and dry... green but dry I don't think any plant would recover from that kind of disaster. If I had another ballast and reflector I would have tried and revive it maybe but no luck for now so with broken heart I took her out of the soil. I am thinking to use Cannazym on that soil to dissolve any remaining roots but have to buy one yet. If you guys know any other method I am all ears.

I am still puzzled how that happened. From same bottle I watered both. Ph of the water was right, molasses is 100% certified organic, water is spring water, light is working and there is 40 cm distance no burns on Blue Cheese, moisture levels are fine, no bugs or pests. Just weird... Thank god Blue cheese is ok.

FLOWERING DAY 14

Blue Cheese is doing good *knocking on wood*. Seeing buds is a good feeling. I took out Nirvana Chrystal from freezer hibernation and put her in jiffy pellet for germination. Let's see how long it is gonna take her to wake up.

It will be a good experiment comparing the smoke of both... one from regular growth period, one from 12/12 cycle from seed up.

1. don't put your seeds in the freezer. if you do you'll have to put them in the fridge for a few weeks to aclimatize first. if not, your germination rate should be lower.
2. get your new seeds in some normal pre-mixed soil with added perlite this time :P
3. don't go 12\12 from seeds. if you do, it won't start to flower right away, it will veg for a week or two and then start. that time a 12\12 will give it less power to veg and thus create weaker plant.
I had clones flowered without any veg time. I got a plant in a small 1oz container, without anything close to esteblished root system by the end, that grew to the size of half of my index finger. could barely fill a joint.
Get any kind of box, ghetto up a veg chamber and veg for a few weeks first. its really ain't that complicated.
if you can't ghetto up a box you can put it on the window sill for the first week, it would look like mint anyway.

Going 12\12 from seed is only good for breeders who want to find something in a huge pile of seeds.

Ive 12/12 for a few years before i had enough room. I never stressed them to hermie. I kinda liked it. It was like buying autoflowers for cheaper.

PS. Do those jiffy pellets work well for germ? Ive never tried. Havnt need to, but am curious.

you need a shitload of seeds to pull a good 12\12 yield in the space he have, don't you?
he has 5 seeds. doesn't make much weed.

i've seen people germ in jiffy pellets, never bothered trying it out, I don't like using them unless i have to. I use them for cloning with great success, but if I could I wouldn't use them.
I do like them much more than rockwool though.

Thats what i mean by, like buying autoflowers. Of course the yield is smaller. But if space constrains u? I didnt have a extra room for vegging and flowering. So if i wanted to keep weed around that was my alternative. Wouldnt do if i had space. But it does grow quick smoke.

Not tryin to jack ur forum, but jiffy pellet, clonex, humidity dome and 18/6? That works for you? I hate rockwool. I have had sucess but its a struggle sometimes to keep them healthy. Sorry for forum jackin Mv...

No big deal I like reading these useful ideas. I guess night claptoman is right. It seems like I will need couple extra CFLs for vegging. At this point buying a grow tent looks tempting still it means buying second set of ballast and reflector. Hmmm decisions decisions.

Been there, done that. I just sold my veg box to my cousin. U can get some good deals out there. I made mine myself, dont know how handy u are. I made a 3x3x3 it was pretty sweet. Pretty heavy, but only spent round $80.

jiffy pellets, hormoril (local rooting powder), 24\0 and a humidity dome works great for me for rooting cuttings.

I had success with rockwool, but way less and it needs WAY more attending than jiffy which I can leave without attending until it roots.

FLOWERING DAY 15

Things are going well so far. I am happy that Blue Cheese keeps going :). Soil moisture levels are good for now although top is dry, so I am gonna wait one or two more days to water her. It will be biobizz bloom+biobizz grow (lesser amount as stated at their fact sheet)+water mix. I hope it will make her happier :) By the way I am giving her reptile light treatment for 10 min a day for UVB purposes. There are a lot of opinions flying around on forums but I think it is a good option to simulate sun rays.

I saw 3 ftx3ftx6.5ft mylar coating grow tent for 80 bucks (buy it now option). What I like about them is that they are light and easy to assemble. I could be quite handy when situation requires but currently I have neither time nor energy to build one from ground up.

Your plant will be able to handle alot more UVB. Ten minutes a day really wont amount to anything. Tahoe runs his for 6 hours or more each day. Have you read the long ass thread about UVB yet?

I might have... I read so many threads about it I am not sure. Could you post the link? I am following Tahoe's journal but somehow missed that info. I have 300W OSRAM Ultra Vitalux lamp and I remember reading it should be 20 min treatment (max) somewhere. 6 hrs, hmmm....

Glad you told me it was the 300w Osram. That bulb puts out INSANE amounts of UVB even at 2ft+. Its designed for zoos. You definitely would have to use it in short intervals and keep it far away. Personally Id opt for a 60w bulb like the Mega-Ray. I think you'll get better results with weaker amount of UVB thats constantly forcing your plant to create more trichomes, than an occasional big blast.

Here is some info regarding your bulb:
