First Grow - CFL's - LST - Bagseed - Rubbermaid Stealth Box - Low budget - *PICS*

This morning I went to the box and checked her out. She had ALREADY turned toward the light 100%, it was like I didn't even LST yesterday.. so I strapped her down again today ever harder by drilling some holes in the side of the pot and using more hooks.. She's starting to look like a contortionist.

Amazing Grow man, I will be watching this one closely as i will be lsting my clones today =]

what up attic nice grow goin. i am on like my second grow and depending how long u were planning on vegging you might wanna try uncleben's fimming technique it works pretty damn good i tried it for the first time and overnight had way more side shoots it would prolly work pretty good with your lst

Well I'm kinda anxious to get this one flowering.. #1. because if it's a male, I'm chucking it and starting over right away, #2. if it's a female, I don't care about getting an ENORMOUS yield my first time, i just want to see it produce, and move on to my second grow..

That being said, I just sent her into flower tonight.. She's been vegging for 29 days now, tomorrow marks 1 month old.. 4 weeks and 2 days.. Just changed all the bulbs over to the red spectrum 2700k, I have 5 26 watt bulbs and 1 40 watt bulb. It's bright as hell in the box.. Just gave the plant a good watering and dose of nutes and tonight will be the first 12 hours of darkness the plant has seen since it was born.

Now I just can't wait for it to show

In the last picture what I LST'd were 4 growth points... well since doing that, i have 5 MORE growth points that are becoming large size... I think this thing is going to be a beast..

One thing I'm going to miss is the fact that the plant was off for 6 hours, from 6pm until midnight the lights were out, that was it's night.

Now it's from 6pm to 6am it's off, and then 6 am to 6pm the lights are on during the day.

I used to at 12:00 open up the box and see how it looked after a nights rest, usually when taking a hit and about to be going to bed.. It was kind of a ritual, but now I can't peek because she's still sleeping for 6 more hours

im probably about to switch to flowering on a few plants in the next couple of days too so i can toss some males out too. im ready to flower too so i feel ya ima sub up on your grow since we are close to the same time

Your LST'd plant looks great Attic, been meaning to reply sooner just been out of town the last 8 days. I really like how you give the single comparison pics to really get a looks at the growth. I am going to try to LST one of my clones from a mother, just waiting for sex to show... That diagram will be useful. Thanks +rep

I just knew that when I was browsing threads these are the kinda things I was curious about as I was starting to grow.. how big is my plant going to look at 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, 4 weeks, etc... I figured it'd be nice to have a good step by step as it goes Plus rep to you too

hey how are you keeping your plants so short and thick???

Lots of different things have contributed to that.. the main ones are that I've always kept a CFL within 2-4 inches of the plant for the entire grow.. it's just kept it short and bushy...

The other thing is I have been implementing a technique called LST (Low Stress Training) in which you tie the plant down and force more growth onto the sides of the plant rather than just on the top, therefore making it short and bushy, instead of tall and scraggly.

Well Attic I had to try it out so I LST'd 2 bag seedlings...

I guess I should start a journal soon... been putting it off. Have a whacked grow from going out of town several times for a week+ at a time an not keeping plants on 18/6 timer while gone... It is all really a practice grow except for the Blue Dream Mother I hope to get sexed soon!!! rather interesting

hey guys this is my 1st try at growing here so all the help is needed.
my grow room consists of 6 200 watt cfl and 2 120watt spot grow lights, the cfls are 3000 lumens each i have 5 plants sprouted rite now the lights are on a timer of 18 and 6
i give them about 120 ml of boiled room tempature water and my lights are at 8 inches from the plants. the are 6 days old, the are also started from seeds the room tempature is in the day around 80 degrees and at nite 65 to 70 in and around their so please help me out and wondering if they look ok thanks

Hey guys.

Here we are in Day # 2 of flowering. Making good progress with the LST.

One major difference I'm sensing already is the SMELL factor. This thing is starting to SMELL when I move branches and leaves.. It's beyond a basil-esque herbal smell, and moving to the realm of musky or skunky...

So far I see no signs of sex anywhere. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

On to the pics:

Here she is this morning. LST has proven to be a valuable source of rapidly developing growth points, all bearing similar resemblance to the main stem's growth point. Can you tell which growth point is the MAIN stem in this picture?


I couldn't, and it was MY plant.. I had to actually go back and look at the plant when I was making these pics to find out which one was really the main cola... The image below shows all of the extra growth points in light green, and the main cola in light blue

Yeah timers are glorious.. I love mine.. it was the best $3 I spent on this entire grow.

View attachment 953921I think this picture really shows the benefit of LST. this plant is maybe 4 or 5 inches tall, and it will end up with 10 MAJOR bud sites, 10 main colas essentially.. Wow. I'm hoping for a decent yield.. I dunno what we'll see, we just have to wait .
