First Grow - Northern Lights with 400w

So I found this old two drawer cabinet on the street outside my apartment and I decided to convert it into a little veg box. I currently have three 23w CFL lights at the top, and drilled holes in the left and right for ventilation. And..... I have two 12V PC fans I ordered on ebay attached at the holes, one blowing air in, the other pulling air out. I'm pretty happy with my cabinet, although I will be adding mylar to the inside and making a better door (currently a mylar sunshade $1.89 at the local market).

that third picture, the one with the big leaf and the blue background is awesome, totally artistic dude, totally national geographic quality! Congrats on having a girl!

Had a bad under-watering scare last night... she got real sad, but things are good to go again. Swapped the MH bulb for HPS and now I'm starting to flower. I decided that the best idea would be to have the dark period during the day (to combat heat issues). So now its 12-12... good times!

oh and she stands about 16" now...

Lookin good man! I just harvested my NL and got about 2 oz of some damn fine bud! Really balanced high, good yeild, really tough plant, and I love NL smell! Ive been tokin out of my new 2ft Bong and flyin high as fuck! Just wait in about 2 months or so your going to be were Im at! I flowered my NL about 20in so not much difference there, but IMO you should get better yeild because I had a spider war from the begining of flower all the way to the end, but I won over those little bastards! But good luck man, Im watchin this one till the end

Hellz yeah! If I could get 2 oz I'd be stoked, but we'll see what happens. So far so good on the flowering stage... my clones and seedlings aren't doing so hot, but thats another story... thanks for keeping up on my grow :)

A few closups of the preflowers and little white hairs :)

The top of the plant was a little hot, accounting for the leaf curling, but I just adjusted the light so it doesn't overheat...

So its becoming more apparent where the flowering sites will be... seeing alot of new white hairs emerging from around the tops. Its getting exciting now...

Also picked up a few clones at a local dispensery... in front is a Trainwreck, and in back is a Blue Dream. Had em for a few days now, they seem to like their new homes, a few little burnt tips, but I think they are ok now.

hey do i still have to add fertilizer with organic soil later on

With what plants? how old? clones? I use nutrients for my mother plant, but nothing yet for my clones... I might give them a little starter nutes but I'm gonna wait a little for them to adjust to the soil.

So after probably at least 2 weeks, with many changes throught the setup, I finally got one my NL clones to root (clone on left)... the other I'm still waiting on, but I think what helped was I trimmed some of the larger leaves so as to focus the clone on rooting and not leaf development. When should I put her in soil? I think I'll wait till a few more roots show.

yea id let atleast a few more roots pook through first, good call on the leave trimming, lookin good so far.

I put the rooted one in soil.. took another clone from the mother just in case it was premature. This time I'm doing it right from the start...

My NL woman has grown quite a bit since I started flowering. I'm gonna have to figure out a new way to hang my light... about 12" to the tops right now. These pics are from two nights ago... and she was just watered and still waking up (explaining the slight droop). Flowering sites are really taking off...

i belive its the nutrient that the leafs hold on to that are the key, while flowering its needs those key nutrients i think its less harm on the plant to get them while its vegging. from what ive been told, dont cut anything while flowering unless its blocking light to buds

A few macro shots in here to see how the flowers are developing... seems like she really is filling out. Getting pretty massive in size as well... I think she's around 2.5 feet and her top two colas are looking great, can't wait to see what kind of buds are gonna be pulled from these...

woot good times!

A few shots this morning before her bedtime (sorry about the poor photo quality, was half asleep)... as of today she stands 33" and doing great. Quite a few of her lower leaves have been yellowing a little, but I'm pretty sure thats natural as she's quite a ways into the flower cycle. I've just been trimming the leaves that look like they are not getting enough light.

Any ideas on the yield I'll have? I really have no idea, but I'm hoping for at least a few ounces. I'm thinking those top two colas will be pretty massive...
