Hah yeah it is kinda sad pullin it cause you had to take care of it the whole time and raised it ha
And how long is it into flowering they usually stop growing up tall after like week 3 of flower but like week 1 and 2 of flower they stretch like crazy. Mine tripped in size those stretch they have a good amount of sativa that's why I think they stretched so much.

Hahah yea Its been about 11 days since I started flowering and its already damn near too tall.

By the way I am starting my second round of Super Silver Haze in veg grow box so I will start that journal soon :). This one is going to get LST and topped off multiple times......A couple of them already sprouted :)

Yeah mabey if you can tap a string of duct tape to the tent wall and tie it over a few inches so it doesn't get to close to light. And nice man there going to be huge after 6 weeks of veg at least they will be ready right away to flower so after your first harvest your next one is only 8 weeks away.

Good idea. I am gonna check tomorrow morning to see if they are too close to the light. If so, I am going to tie them back some.

Yea I am thinking it will be perfect timing :)

Thanks man. Yea they said this strain should be flowered like 12 weeks or so...but we will see how they look later. So the thin leaves its more of a sativa?

Hey there Caddy, just catching up on this grow from he beginning, done a nice job. Surprised you let the SS go that long with veg, that will be a monster. I`ve grown the Super Silver twice and it`s my hands down favourite smoke in the world but not the easiest to grow as previously mentioned. I let my last SS go for 36ish days veg and the full size would`ve been closer to 7 feet without the training.

Basic rule of thumb for that strong a sativa is to veg to a `set`height as the plants will often triple or more in size before week 8 of flower. I shoot for 1 foot for my sativas and make sure you sufficiently clear your bottom third about 3-4 days before you flower. The Super Silver has some of favourite leaves, super thin and huge by the end.

Congrats thus far, will be subbed for the rest as I`ll have another batch of these before too long. The nice part is starting with THIS strain will equipped to grow pretty much any other genetic afterwards. And for your flower, you`re probably looking at AT LEAST 12 weeks. Left mine for almost 100 days if I recall correctly. Happy growing,

KC :weed:

Yes I didn't realize how tall she was going to get until I switched the lights and noticed I had to lift my lights almost completely to the top.

Favorite smoke eh? Well I am glad I am at least starting on a really nice strain. I promise this next grow I will let it go for a shorter veg period. Although...I was thinking...since I will lst and topping it, I can probably keep them a lost smaller and still let it grow for the same amount of time no? 7 feet?!?!? holy shit.....Oh man Im going to have to do something quick because its damn near too close to the hps light right now. So then i should try and tape it off to the sides? or is it too late?

Clearing the bottom third? So probably you can tell from my pics I havent done that. The bottom leaves are starting to turn yellow which ive read that its normal and some people trim those off because its focusing its energy into the buds. Should I just trim it all down? Fan leaves and all? ust the bottom of course.

After hearing people tell me that the thin leaves are more of a sativa im glad because I kept thinking that this plant was not as good looking as my male because it was sooooo thin (the leaves that is). Apparently Its fine :o).

Thanks KC for all the info and glad you are subbed. Let me know if you have any questions or want to see any pictures of anything.

Hey Caddy, since there`s multiple inquiries I`ll try to address one by one. From your pics from the 13th, the plants look good and healthy and that`s what I`ll be going by for reference for you.

Firstly training. I NEVER will top a nice Sativa like the SS, the top cola is your pride and joy for the most part with these plants. After my my first `overgrow` with the SSI used LST early on (days 24-30) and ended up SCROG`n the rest at 2 weeks flower, kept my canopy flush. Since you`re already so far I`d recommend getting some hemp string and some zip ties and just tie down your tops to level out an even canopy and put up a screen as soon as you switch over to 12/12 (which would be NOW for me ;-)). ** EDIT - Sorry, stoned, you did the switch. Disregard switch and just follow the training now. 2-3 weeks into flower shouldn`t hurt you too bad, for a 100 day strain anyways **

As far as your airflow and pruning goes, reference your first picture from the 13th, take your close fists and stack them against your plant. You want to clear that much off your bottom portion. This includes fan leaves. Allows plants to breathe from top-up and improves flow below. You will have to do this before anything else as it will start affecting the plant the further you go into flower. Your leaves are yellowing down there because there growth is essentially halted right now with the influx of `top`growth and the inability for the light to penetrate that low under the canopy.

Like I mentioned, the SS is definitely my favourite smoke (for a Sativa anyways), very complex, soothing for nerves and very creative for my art too!! She`ll get pretty hungry during flowering so keep close eye on your leaves and calyx production to ensure no deficiencies. The nice thing about SS is it will show you what it needs, just have to know what to look for :). And beautiful job so far mate, the leaves, internodal spacing and structure look real good so far. Sorry for taking up a sizeable area Caddy, I`ll be hangin`around :blsmoke:

P.S

If you have access to GreenHouse seeds and their SS (assuming those are these genes), you should look into Kaia Kush. Going into my next grow to test for myself, but it`s a OG Kush x Super Silver which would be more beneficial to your set-up. pretty much a 60/40 Indica/Sativa mix which would keep the plants smaller and yield a bit more with the OG density. My test will be to see how much of the SS is lost with the cross, but I`m also attracted to it because I have LOTS of experience with OG. Just a blather ..

Thanks for the very thorough reply! I had moved my lights to its maximum height a few days ago and I just looked this morning and the plant is damn near right at the top again. Holy shit this girl is growing INCHES/day. I am definately going to be tying down my tops....mainly the main cola because its stretching the tallest and I am very worried about it. I really appreciate your feedback.

I will also take care of the airflow beneath my plant and start to prune the dead leaves and yellowing ones thanks for that as well :).

Yea I am really excited to hear how she smokes. I will make sure to continue my fox farm nutes every other watering. And speaking of watering...holy shit shes thirsty! She drinks so much water so fast!!!

Thank you for all the good advice KC dont worry about taking up space...your knowledge is very welcome :)

Thanks for this! I am curious on what you come up with. Do you have a journal for these?

Okay So I trimmed the bottom leaves down, I watered with more nutes as well, and I trained the top cola to bend downwards. I accidentally snapped it a little like if I were to super crop it but maybe not that extreme....It should be fine though. At least its about 1 foot away from the HPS now. What would you recommend if I wanted to train it even more? The stem is too damn thick if I try to train it from a lower section.

Yeah it`ll be tough to train anything along the bottom half now (where you were worried about your slim stems would`ve been the time :) ). But I`d ride it out at this point if you`ve done a super-crop esque technique for the tops. Just watch the cola coming into the light or getting burned. This will be a good first lesson to learn as far as the capability of the plant, haha.

Good news is you`ll stop losing the vertical growth portion in maybe 2 weeks and the bud density will be the plants main life purpose, making you rest a bit easier about space cramps :)

As far as the Kaia Kush goes, waiting for a good time to get them going. Will be running them alongside likely Chemdog (another GHS strain) as they keep to a fairly similar schedule. I will be journaling them once they go in. Working on Cataract Kush by DNA right now so they`ll be up next in the mother box :blsmoke:

Feel free to inquire further mate, but so far you got this no worries,

Thanks man! I think the cola was damn near getting burnt so luckily I am tying them down using the corners of my tent. I am so glad I am only left with 1 starting from 10 because no way in hell would I have had room. Plus ur right....I shouldn't have vegged for so long....oh well we all gotta learn somehow :).

2 Weeks from now? Hmmmmm okay that will definitely be something to look forward to haha.

Good shit man! I will be looking forward to your journal! That chem dog is going to be gnarly!
